Lets start with making the thief listen to every mp3 on Kodara’s hard drive…. then listen to Simon’s personal ipod.. I know it’s full of Supertramp and Elton John… then all of us real fans, can pee on him/her…. while the thief performs all the new tracks, in the nude on 42nd street vampire

Yoko Ono and Shakira come to mind….

Seriously, if you truly respect Twisted then just do the right thing and support them financially by purchasing something from the Twisted store or buying a ticket or two to the next show. If you’re new to Twisted then think about collecting some of their older stuff like the Hallucinogen albums if you haven’t already. And pick up a set of cool Twisted stickers or a t-shirt as well. It’s going to be a sad day if you go to browse the Twisted forums and all you get is an error:404 message.

Lol, why my hard drive?! There’s decent music on there… That’s not torture…. I mean yea, I have everything that I really like on physical albums, but I also have that music digital…

No, I have a better idea. Have him/her listen to Britney Spears, Lady GaGa, Beyonce, Kanye West, 50 cent, Eminem, etc… Make a playlist of about 20 tracks of those artists and put it on ‘loop’ for a week….

Or WAIT no…. Anyone seen Clockwork Orange???.... Hehe…... That would be truly evil.

And don’t forget the creative writing in Britney’s “If U seek Amy” (F*U*C*K Me). My creative writing teacher in high school forgot to teach us that style of writing! smile

I don’t think anyone “stole” it.

Anyways it was inevitable, if not a couple days before official release than the day on or after.

Actually, lots of labels intentionally give an MP3 rip of their new releases to scene groups for release as promotion. Most people don’t follow Twistedmusic.com’s news feed, but they will see it when it’s posted all over the internet. This also ensures it is a decent quality MP3 rip that gets spread.

If the mp3 release was spectacular I imagine a good portion of people would buy the real thing. But so far I’m seeing a lot of people saying they didn’t like it, including myself (based on Twisted’s samples alone).

Twisted Records is one of the most commercial psy labels, yet they are the only psy label to stoop to crying publicly about not selling enough CDs. Better to spend your money supporting smaller labels and emerging artists that really have money problems. Twisted already sells thousands of each CD, they will hardly notice it if you just download their music in high quality instead.

Eh, say what?

Of course it wasn’t stolen, the only possibility seems to be that it was leaked by someone who received a copy to review it… And Twisted sent those copies for promotional reasons.

I agree that mp3’s of the album floating around on the internet are inevitable, but let’s say you’re the Twisted label (or simon, or raja) and you’ve just finished the album. Because you’re almost going bankrupt, you do not spread your music for free simply because you cannot afford that. You hope that people will like the relatively LONG, good quality SAMPLES that were given out for promotional reasons, and buy the album!

Then, some fuckass releases a low-quality rip of the album, possibly giving the downloaders a wrong impression of the album. So yea this mp3 release is maybe not that spectacular (I don’t know, I haven’t heard it), but it’s not Twisted’s fault. I think there’s a big difference in a lowquality rip before the album is released and a goodquality rip after the album is released.

I’m sure that if a Shpongle fan does not like it, it’s because of this bad mp3 quality or because you have to make the tracks grow on you. And ehhh where do you see a lot of people saying they didn’t like it? You are the 3rd one I’ve seen so far. Everyone else is in love, some of them saying that this might be the best Shpongle so far.

If the mp3 release was spectacular I imagine a good portion of people would buy the real thing.

I used to think the same thing. But if it were true, Twisted would be swimming in dollars (or pounds). If compare how many Shpongle fans are out there (just because you’re not one doesn’t mean nobody is) and how hard Twisted is struggling to stay alive… It doesn’t make sense. It seems that 98% of all people download mp3s onto their iPod and enjoy them, without ever considering to buy the album.

ps. You may not like the album cause you’re stuck in the nineties, but music taste is personal. Nothing related to how ‘good’ or how ‘lousy’ music is can be expressed in facts. Yes, I think Ultimae is nice, no I don’t like Entheogenic, yes I think Shpongle has soul, etc.

It’s actually impossible for normal people to tell the difference between the high quality release and these “low quality mp3s” that were spread. I’m sure they were probably V0 or V2, not 128kbps. Saying they give people a bad impression of the music is grasping at straws and creating wild rumors, because I’m sure they sound the exact same.

Part of the reason of that is because their music is now appealing mostly to poppy kids that download it for their ipod along side their lady gaga. The idea of buying the real CD scarcely enters these peoples heads.

With pop music I don’t hear a difference. But I noticed that with ‘digital’ music, I can clearly hear the difference. Especially with multi-layered, carefully crafted music like Shpongle. I read the mp3 release contains some glitches, volume normalization and digital distortion too. I’m sure they don’t sound exactly the same. Especially not compared to the sound that will blast out of my stereo in a few weeks smile

This is just random bullshit, seriously. Just because you’re unhappy with the musical direction that Twisted took does not mean it’s poppy. You have no support for this statement at all. I’ve never seen an iPod with any of Twisted’s stuff, and I’ve seen a lot with crap pop.

To compare Twisted with Lady Gaga? She makes shitloads of money with her crap music. For Twisted it’s the other way around. Twisted and poppy kids? LMFAO. You need to get a reality check, dude. Try to actually LISTEN to some popmusic to get some reference…

don’t compare shpongle with pop music.

SOmeone told me few days ago that “I am you” is scary tune, and he would never be brave enough to trip on it!

I was shocked for half-a-hour! SCARY? where? why? what? ))

What I want to say is that DUMB people can’t stand Shpongle music, they think is too trippy, scary, or to sensitive.

When, on other hand, intellegent and open minded people (even who never ate psychedelics) will feel a unique story-telling atmosphere in every shpongle tune.
Same people will never forget WHAT Shpongle gave them in particular period of their live while listening to it.
Same people will support you guys as a close friends, as we are.

We are those people!, we help when our help is needed!

We will buy and promote you if you really strugling. Just forget about that leak, probably someone can materialise their thoughts very easily, someone who wanted to listen to a new album ASAP, and he made it :D. Forgive him and move on. I understand you guys Spent a lot of mony on doing DVD, new album, YB, and roundhouse. But everything will comeback like a boomerang.

GOOD LUCK smile
