A couple of things,

A) I was hoping someone here could confirm this is on, since the festival webpage says it’s 100% confirmed, but people are starting to get a little edgy about the lack of updates on the website, it would be heartening to know it’s completely legit

and

B) - given it’s on a remote island near the ocean at the base of a Volcano - I’m surprised Shpongle wouldn’t want to perform live at this particular event.

Definitely one of the most expensive festivals ever.

Easter Island…too far away, except for people who live in Americas and Australia I guess…

Wow, $800 to get to the island and another $800. Would love to go but that is just too much money. The total eclipse would be neat to witness.

I’ll just have to make sure and visit Easter island during the off season.

the only thing is- the airline companies that go to the island are being sketchy about all the flights for that specific time frame for the eclipse. they’re not released yet, and while the event coordinators claim to have an agreement with the airline companies, a flight isn’t necessarily guaranteed - that aside, this could be the most amazing event ever. i totally gotta go.

Oh I agree it looks legit. It looks like a kick ass time. On the flip side though, I could backpack for a couple of months with $1600, so i gotta put it in perspective.

Looking through the web page it looks very interesting. I’ll probably be in Canada 2010, and travelling down there isn’t entirely impossible..
