I wanted to make this topic because the other was about the leak issue. So here’s one where we could share our thoughts about this amazing new album.

I downloaded the leaked version just because I couldn’t wait. And already pre ordered 2 CD.

This album has something special, and I can’t wait for my CD! I need it.

My favorite tracks are:

1. Ineffable Mysteries
2. Electroplasm
3. Walking backwards through the cosmic mirror
4. Nothing is something worth doing
5. No turn un-stoned

I like the rest but not as much as the ones I mentioned :D

I am going to wait to hear this CD, and save it for a special occasion.
I wondered whether the set and setting had an influence on my appreciation and
perception of the previous CDs, as I think not saving the CDs for a special
occasion coloured my hearing of the second and third albums. Having put them on
the old music box as soon as they were in my hands, rather than waiting for a
sphongled moment with loved ones.

Out of respect I’m not going to share my opinions based on an mp3 I’ve downloaded (and I’m not going to listen to it again either - waiting for my real CD copy to arrive through my door!) suffice to say I’m very excited about this album.

EXACTLY what I’m doing too. Took the words right out of my mouth.
Hope that moment comes soon…
but I’m willing to wait.

Just got an hand on the new Shpongle. I’m so impressed by the sound, it’s just perfect! I can’t believe that the quality is still high after a 4th album, very impressive. I’m on Ineffable Mysteries, this track is so awesome! First time I listen to it and I got inside directly! Really, I’ve been listening to a lot of musics since lot of years and I could not get the feeling I’m experiencing with anything else than Shpongle. I’m astonished in front of so much perfection! Well done Shpongle!

Ineffable Mysteries is my favorite track as well. The whole album is so fucking epic!! Tales of the Inexpressible still remains my favorite album of all time though.

While I haven’t heard the full quality release yet (excited about my CD!!) I listened to the leaked copy on headphones in darkness, and I was more blown away by this album than any other music I’ve heard to date! I was laughing and crying and gasping at how brilliant the first track alone was, let alone the rest of the album. Utterly amazing, the fact that something like that could ever be captured in a song… the album truly is “Ineffable.” There are no words for the genius contained within this CD… I’ll be ordering a bunch of copies when I get paid next so I can give them out and help make the world a better place with Shpongle!

Mixed. There’s a lot of rock influence, to the point where it sounds like younger brother at points. I don’t like the synth trumpets in tracks 4, 5 and 6. I like the indian influence, which is something i’ve always though shpongle needed to do more of. I also dislike the heavy use of lyrics, but then again i never like there to be singing in the music I listen to (unless it’s Queen). Overall I think they went too much in the direction of Tales and not enough in the direction of Nothing Lasts. I love the cello use, which shpongle always use well.

Yeah, i totally dislike I Am You :(

I dunno, i’m going to have to give it a listen with some headphones while in a really good mood. Really wish they had put the shpongle mask on the cover, as it’s one of my favorite parts of shpongle

In the end, Nothing Lasts… But Nothing is Lost is the best album Shpongle and, I believe, twisted have ever put out. While i will always want more Shpongle, I don’t think they’ll ever, ever top it.

I downloaded the leaked version….

lol. So after all that hot air in the other thread you’re supporting piracy now eh? Pathetic.

Twisted Records is one of the most commercial psy labels, yet they are the only psy label to stoop to crying publicly about not selling enough CDs. Better to spend your money supporting smaller labels and emerging artists that really have money problems. Twisted already sells thousands of each CD, they will hardly notice it if you just download their music in high quality instead.

well holy shit, it is much better with headphones. I know it’s cliche, but the depth is much, much better. Stereo separation really adds to Shpongle. Def. going to buy this one.

Was there talk at any point of a Shpongle box set that ended up getting canceled? I would have loved one

I’m a bit miffed actually, I don’t steal music and have been looking forward to this album for ages and ages and here you are….chatting about it, well fine, I’ll be waiting for the real thing to appear on my door mat but in the mean time know this, youse are ruining it for EVERYONE!!! It’s not just mean to Simon and Raja (et al) its mean to all the people who do love Shpongle and have been looking forward to the album launch. I have heard some bits of tunes and I quite love them already, the one with the tin space pan thing reminded me of 31/10/08 - we had an hilarious moment, we were booked to stand but that all went a bit wrong (I needed to visit the bathroom and then couldn’t get back to my group) anyway one of my friends came and found me (chatting and smoking) and we tricked the lady into letting us go upstairs, just in time for the last 2 songs, ahhhhh them was the days. smile

Ooooh, lordy, thats another adventure, I ‘lost’ my ticket while at the loo, freaked right out…went back to toilet, searched the entire room, still no ticket - my life was over, but it wasn’t really because someone had hidden my ticket down my boot (what possessed me to think it was down my tights…I really do not know) oooh what a funny fyunny night - I love The Shpongle.

Oh yes, I might have been a bit ‘well bad’ and I love ‘Something is nothing’ and no turn unstoned is my favourite song since the ace trippy love songs on LDoG. I thought it was ok to be a little bit bad because 1, Simon said so and 2, because I’m such a bad ass mo fo anyway (yeah) and 3, because I’m not going to really listen to it until the CD arrives.

extra track and a tacky badge for your box set sir? smile thats not very twisted - oh I have to get my prof pic to get the voice right…brb

I haven’t even listened to the samples on the Twisted home page. I’m waiting for the release to order the CD and then spending a night listening to it on repeat smile

Listening to a leaked version of the album is horrible. Just wait ‘til the release.
