This is going to happen…tonight!

Setting up my rainbow crystal orb projector on the ceiling.
Sprawl a blanket on the floor with a pillow.
Fresh pot of Chinese white tea.
Headphones.
Pure bliss.

See you all in Shpongleland!  cheese

wow! reading this thread is making giggle and teehee like an anxious school girl.

so many options for the first listen, and the many following. I have an old Mackie PA setup inside my house, its kind of strange setup. Connected to that an even older jbl stereo. which has an incredible quality to it, even for its age. from the stereo i have a 2 channel 300 watt jbl powered subwoofer. Its balanced between a nice quality, to going pretty loud, for my little apartment.

shpongle fruit of course! the shpongle tree is plentiful. having a rare but small exposure to some of the new songs from the last halloween show. my space traveling partner and i will take a head phone listen. laying down? sounds wonderful si! if i could only sit still. so we have a couple head sets available to use while it is playing on the sound system as well.

i will have my poi ready to spin.

.... maybe it would be more exciting to hear it whilst shpongled, but not knowing any of the tracks…. but bear in mind that when we give it ‘the acid test’ in the studio, we have already heard the track maybe several hundred times whilst straight… and it’s STILL like hearing it with a fresh pair of ears and a new brain!

Thanks for the advice Si! I was really hesitating about to be fruited or not. That’s the question…

Oh, and the stereo field is important…. so either in the listening position for your studio, or headphones are great smile
I’ve been wearing my in-ear monitors all week for rehearsals, and it sounds pretty good coming down those!!

I recommend a pair of ADAM monitors for the stereo field. For me clearly the advantage of ribbon technology…so crisp what they deliver.

For now Dark Basement with 10 computer controlled rgb led lighting can produce specific colors or fade through different colors. I can also control them individually, it lights up the room so well; so cool. :D
Audio equipment i have a Marantz 5001 fed from my computer through coax spidif. Headphones consist of Sennheiser Px-100 Hd-555 Hd-600; for Christmas i’m really looking forward to getting The Akg k702’s. My speakers however are nothing to rave about. There 20yr old modified Mcintosh speakers.

Theres plenty of old speakers that sound fantastic.  Just because theyre not new doesnt mean theyre not good.  If youre handy with a soldering iron, an old pair of speakers can quickly best a new pair for a few bucks worth of capacitors.  So many people throw away vintage speakers just because theyre old, or may have rotted woofer surrounds.  Capacitors and resistors also drift in value with age, so refreshing the crossovers will help a great deal.  Heres a Large Advent crossover I just finished.  The new one is on the right, the old on the left.  The speakers arent finished yet, but theyll sound better than new when finished.

I was listening to Fool’s Overture by Super tramp and suddenly noticed that they sampled a bit of Dreamer towards the end.
