That is really awesome GD… how much did it run you for that size print?

edit: have also been meaning to ask, is that Bill Hicks in your avatar pic?

Lol thats a funny story. Well I had it printed at kinkos, they said come back in the morning and pick it up, went there the next day thinking it would be no more than $20. Lady gives me the poster and turns out to be $50!!! I said “WHAT!”. But went ahead and paid for it since it was already done. So get a price before you get it printed… rolleyes

yeah thats Bill Hicks, was such a genius.

Its 24x24. They said they can print 24x24 or 36x36. 24x36 distorts the image.
Its very high quality looks really good. I dont even see the faint line that the OP is talking about.

Awesome poster, GD! totally want one myself, now!

As for tales, Sebochas, I don’t have a high resolution version to work with. I need something that’s at least 1000x1000 to start with (the AYS was 1900x1900).

Looking at it closely, i could probably rebuild it piece by piece. The mountains arent really high detail, the mask just has some colour alteration and a zoom blur and the kite being flown is the AYS cover. The only thing that would be hard is the text

I think, though, that my next project should be getting good enough with Zbrush (3d sculpting app) that i can build a really good 3d model of the shpongle mask itself. Then there could be some really cool applications

but ye4ah, anyone with a good scanner willing to scan the Tales cover at 1500+ would probably cause me to give it a good shot

I received my Shpongle stuff today I just heard, so I couldn’t possibly be happier! (All CDs + T-Shirt)
I also own a scanner, but how good it is, I’m not sure. I will definitely try and scan it in for you today, so we’ll see! smile

EDIT: I now have scanned Tales of the Inexpressible, Nothing lasts… But Nothing is Lost and Ineffable Mysteries from Shpongleland in 1200. I’d gladly upload them (if they are useful), but I’m unsure about what Shpongle and Twisted thinks of it. Ok or not?

I dont think it would be an issue. They haven’t said anything about me uploading poster-ready images

If twisted does release posters…I’d buy those too!
but for now, your scans would be greatly appreciated.  cheese

Would you mind vectorizing and blowing those up too, Shpongling?

I’ll see what i can do. I dont think the Nothing Lasts cover will be doable though. Too complex and tons of detail in Simon’s studio poster is not seen on the cover

Well if you scanned it in quarters i could easily piece it together. Still, Tales would be infinitely easier

I’m fluent with photoshop, so I could do that…
if I was willing to spend the time, haha.
We’ll see…

What program are you using to vectorize it? Illustrator? What settings?
