They’re not Indian, they’re Dutch actually. Most stuff I mentioned are from other countries, just use these kind of techniques. And yeah, the Meshuggah cover rules!

Hi all,
I got a question.
When I listen to the music, I can most of the time count the time being 4. Like 1 - 2 - 3 4 - 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - and so on. And almost for all the music…
So how the time signature works?
What is 4/4? I guess it’s when a regular kick hits every 4 times every 4?
What is 3/4?
Guys can you explain simply me how this works?

Just ignore it.
Time signatures are meaningless.

if you can count 1-2-3-4 —-> 4/4. as you say, most music.
if you can count 1-2-3 —-> 3/4. waltzes for example.
if you can count 1-2-3-4-5 —-> 5/4. dave brubeck’s “take 5” for example (I mean paul desmond)
etc.

Here are a couple of Shpongle tracks that have time signatures other than 4/4 if you are interested in hearing how different meters feel.

My Head Feels like a Frisbee (1st half)  6:8
DMT (2nd half)                  6:8
Monster Hit:                    5:4
Ineffable Mysteries:              6:4
And the Day Turned To Night:        7:4
Invisible Man:                  7:4
Nothing Lasts:                  7:4
Electroplasm:                  7:4

Great, thank you guys! I could recognize it for Ineffable Mysteries track. What is the last number then? 4/4 OK, 6/4 OK, but in example 4/6? Means a period of 6? So 4 times 6?
