- Vapour Rumours 5:30-5:47 and 8:03-8:30 the “medieval” flute theme
- Shpongle Spores 2:27-3:53 the steel-drum kind-a sound that sounds like angel tears falling
- Behind Closed Eyelids 7:19-10:46 the rythm and then the flute - wow!
- Shnitzel’d in the Negev 2:53-end with the piano and the “firefly” sounding melody line (it’s going on a bit in the next track). Has given me a brain orgasm once or twice…
- No Turn Un-Stoned 3:00-3:44 with the really nice vocals and the flute

Too many… way too many.

I’d say the one that would stand out the most for me would be from Nothing Lasts.  When the triplet melodic bits start flowing around my head and subtly increase the tension… and then the drums and bassline kick in (about 45 seconds into the track).  The smile that crossed my face upon my first listening of that hurt.  Utterly brilliant.  When the piece later opens up with the piano and that classical style… wow, just beyond description for me.

The new track “No Stone Unturned” also has a strong effect upon me.  Around 3 minutes, the modulations and those voices… it literally brought tears of bliss to my eyes.

There are so many brilliant bits in all of their compositions that I feel bad for only listing two, but would feel foolish listing them all cool smile

hahaha. im listening to the album yet again, and arrived exactly at that part of the song when i read that. i literally just got shivers down my spine. fucking awesome!

And god… I’m not sure that I could list them all. I’d be here far too long lol. Every single damn shpongle song holds a special spot in my heart. I’ll have to come back in here a bit later when I’ve thought about it some more with a list lol.

1.  The end of Shpongle Falls, with the whispering and bubbles.  If you ever heard this on a fistful of mushrooms…

2.  Monster Hit, 4:00 mark, the whurrrrrrrring mechanical sounds, melts your spine.

3.  DMT - When the computers sing together.  :D

4.  Turn Up the Silence - when the hi-hat/tamborine sounds join the beats.  LOVE THAT.

5.  Nothing Lasts - :56-1:52

6.  The Stamen of the Shaman - when the second horn section comes in!!!, actually the entire track, who am I kidding.

7.  The guitar licks on Levitation Nation

8.  Tea Daze - 8:00-to the end.

9.  Frisbee - 3:45-to the end.

10.  Haven’t listened enough to Ineffable to share anything from this…

Botanical Dimensions - when the beat comes in at 3:25

I’m loving the outro to Ineffable Mysteries (from 9:03) onwards.. the blind beggar singing a blessing to Ganesh, underpinned by those chords.. something quite emotional about it.

It’s really impossible to define absolute favorites but I love the lead introduced at 2:29 in ...But Nothing Is Lost, it has soo much emotion to it, like some kind of alien creature speaking in some kind of passionate wailing.  But my favorite part of that song doesn’t come until 3:15 when Terence McKenna says “Nothing lasts, nothing lasts.  Everything is changing into something else.  Nothing is wrong, nothing is wrong.  Everything is on track.”  That part gives me fucking chills everytime!  It’s like a moment of clarity that lifts me out of any emotional hole I might find myself in.  Probably though the most intense and “Shpongled” Shpongle moment for me would have to be around 10:38 until the peak at 11:29 of ...And The Day Turned To Night.  It’s like the calm before the storm, the peak of the rollercoaster right when you’re staring down the track knowing you’re about to plummet down.  Of course the peak is breathtaking, utterly mind-deconstructing and hard to compare to but that moment right before is sooo well handled.  I can’t say these are always going to be my all-time favorites but these are what came to mind.  Great thread, I’m going through checking out all these moments wink

easy.

The first half of Schnitzl’d In The Negev is the only song that gives me goose bumps each and every time i listen to it, especially when the voice kicks in.

That album is fucking perfect

I cant say any favorite but i can tell some parts that i think is great.

Star Shpongled Banner -> Intro, the hmmmmmmm sound
Monster Hit       -> Intro, the dripping sound

Then one of the greatest things ever made,
I think everybody knows what i mean when i say:
DMT             -> The bouncing ball sound

my number one favorite shpongley part is in StarShpongled Banner at ~4:03-05

There is this high pitched synth that starts in the right channel, grows and swoops over to the left in a doppler effect sort of display

From the beginning of Invisible Man to very end has become my favorite thus far (until Shpongle’s 5th possibly) the entire track is just so beautiful. Particularly from about 6:03 to the end is extremely enjoyable smile

The moment 2:32 of DMT where the vibraphone triplets in 4/4 suddenly twist the groove into 6/8. I’ve been a shpongle fan ever since I first heard that.

Are we still talking about this?  Because if so I’d like to chime in as well..  This changes for me on the order of anywhere from about 5 days to about a month, but today it’s gotta be “I Am You,” absolutely all of it, but most especially at 7:07, 8:39, and 10:12.  By the time I get to that third changeup, I am at FULL TILT!  Seriously, for as much as it feels like Shpongle articulates my soul into finally a communicable format, I am perpetually floored and consumed by the thought, “HOW do they DO that???!!”  How, how, HOW does Simon come UP with those sounds of his??!  And the lyrics ain’t half bad neither wink  All I can say is I hope Simon and Raj (and anyone else involved in the inner workings of Shpongle) never die, and never, ever, ever get tired of sharing themselves.  More Shpongle, please, forever!! cheesecheese:cheese:

“It is by attempting the impossible that we reach the highest level of possible”  probably misquoted, and by a great British author, I will find the right reference..
