I think that’s why I don’t like Invisible man, IMO it could have been much better, because it’s a beautiful song, but when the brass starts, I usually change to no turn unstoned as fast as possible.

Well, to me the worst track in the album is I Am You. It’s like it has been remixed 10,000 times, it’s too long and I really don’t like it. The first versions were much better, like 6 or 7 min long, with drums instead of the new sounds. And the voices were better, the one that starts at 2:55 is now effected, and I don’t like that. I still listen to a youtube I am you version that someone recorded during a DJ set, it was a powerful track. It surprises me that it changed that much when I listened to the album version, with the new intro with that annoying voice.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HD12hFvDzhg  I love that old version!

I think I am you and Invisible man could have been much better songs, then the album would be the best one ever.

Ok, if people keep saying it sounds like brass to them when it clearly sounds like a baritone saxophone to me, I think we’re going to need input from Hallucinogen himself.

It’s neither brass, horns or saxophone, it’s a cello.

I don’t think so, my wife is a cellist.  I hear the instrument daily.  I could be wrong, but it would completely surprise me if that sound were a cello.

Well you can trust simon for manipulating sounds and disguising them and such a way that you can’t recognize the sound anymore, but thing is, I was at the roundhouse and I can pretty much tell you that it was the cellist playing this part.

it doesn’t seem that farfetched for them to use a different instrument when playing it live…

Watching the DVD it was evident to me that those sounds were coming from the computers, not the cello.

Guys trust me, I was at roundhouse on the 31, and I was also surprised because to me at first it did sound like some kind of brass instrument, but I saw the cellist play it!!

And even on the cd, it is nowhere mentioned in the liner notes that horns or saxophones were recorded!!

Because they are synthesized sounds.  The clarinet on “Ineffable Mysteries” isn’t mentioned either.  We really need input from Simon on this one.
