]Hi,

I’m looking for some recommendations for some tracks or albums that fit the bill of that sort of Lisa Gerarrd singing (Middle Eastern?) mixed with some sort of Shpongle style electronica….

Some stuff I like (not necessarily fitting the bill as described above but…)

Air- Moon Safari
Enigma 1 and 2 (but really not a big fan of the more cheesier latter albums)
Aria 1 - a track called ‘Willow’ to be specific http://open.spotify.com/track/5y2SapqzbaMAKmINXfzoRx
Leftfield - Leftism

These are all very 1990’s I suppose, but I’d prefer to hear something more recent.  So not asking a lot eh!?  Any suggestions?

Cheers.

Try stuff on Dakini records from Japan also albums by Adam Shaikh have eastern influence.  I love the sound of Eastern vocals with Electronica.

Oh and of course Ott’s ablums…

Try Abduction by Eat Static, especially the track Forgotten Rites. Quite an old album but some nice Arabesque samples on it. Anything by Transglobal Underground might fit the bill. Again a bit 1990’s but I guess Middle Eastern vibes were just popular then!

Eastern Spirit is a group you should like. Also Kaya Project has a lot of Eastern influence. Artsts related to those on sites like Pandora should further your quest for music in this style smile
