I know these aren’t new, but they are some of my favs.

Quietman - Shhhh (double album, banging and chilled cd, hard to find. Has an unmistakable sample from the original Dune film in track called The Sleeper)

Zirrex - Lost in time (being re-released on psyshop soon i believe, may not be as varied but feels so old school)

More recent (well a bit)

The Misted Muppet - From the legend (Really banging, one of my favs ever)

The Chemical Mafia - ? (a collaboration of many artists including Skazi (the only name i can remember), forget the details now tho) There are a few vocal moments that get on my nerves though, really banging again (see a pattern? lol)

Most others have already been mentioned. Am also after some new stuff, will be watching this thread with interest…....

i think this project wasnt mentioned in here yet, so i suggest you to check out “Principles of Flight”. Their 2nd album “Chaos Opera” was released this year, while their first one “Nighttime Lullabies” was released back in 2006. When i first heard it i really got hope that the scene isnt completely lost and that there are new upcoming artists who keep the psychedelia up - still this is just a matter of taste raspberry

if you want to download it before you buy it, try not to get the 8 track version of chaos opera, as this is a version of the album that was especially made for djs, as they have a lot of orchestral work in their tracks that is hard to handle for djs, as they said. so the 8 track version is NOT the actual album. to be sure, go to psyshop or saikosounds and get it there - its definitely worth it!

As already said, Electrypnose - his daytime music - best psy I have heard in a very long time! I recommend his website, where you can subscribe and download over 500 tracks, along with loads of other goodies for production. Top bloke!

Scorb - ‘Ipso Fvcto’ - brilliant diverse album, great production quality.

Headroom - has a unique style: ‘Artelligent’ is pure quality. - Check out ‘Deadroom’ and ‘Artelligent’, oh and ‘Will never end’

Also you may like the new goa style music, check out ‘Goasia’ - the track ‘Love and peace’ rather infectious! :D

I’ve also heard abit of headroom’s work, not bad at all and quite refreshing! He’s got indeed a unique touch with some electro influences, check out his track “welcome to summer” on his my space.

So, generix, have we satisfied your thirst for good psytrance?

To some extent, yes! But what i wanted first was to start the subject, share ideas and see what the other people here were thinking. But I haven’t had the time so far to check out all the names that everyone’s been dropping here.

But it’d be nice for sure if everybody posted something here whenever they made a nice psytrance discovery.

Hey guys,

Pursuing the same topic, I have to say I’m starting to feel hopes again regarding the psytrance scene smile I’ve indeed recently made a couple of very nice discoveries.

Fearsome engine - biting point (Nano records) : Very nice record, lots of different influences, both recent and old school and believe it or not, a slight posford touch, probably because of Tristan. Excellent production, not boring nor repetitive at all. I can only recommend it to all of you.

Cosmosis - Fumbling for the funky frequency : Damn, the guy’s been producing trance for one and a half decade! I haven’t listenned much to it yet, but it will for sure satisfy those who are in old school goa trance, lots of arabic melodies and very groovy as well. Nice surprise. check it out…

Cosmochaos - Laws of motion : This one’s very nice as well, very melodic but not cheesy, some old school influence as well, and he somehow has a sound that really stands out from the mainstream.

Following Schlomp’s advice, I also got myself an illegal copy(god forgives me!) of Electrypnose - Where to go, which so far sounds great to me, very unique style.

Otherwise, check out the track Chronos - Solid mercury, morning full on at its best!

Cheers

most of the stuff recommended hear is out of this world!

you guys all know your music, i feel silly even suggesting stuff, but when i wanna get my psytrance on sometimes i listen to a mix made by the “Weather Corporation”. the spring2009 mix is really nice. Can be downloaded here for free

i also listen to ITP’s “Lose your Illusion” it may qualify as kind of generic, but all of the songs are danceable, combined with some mandolin at times and some george carlin sound bytes, made for a nice trancey album.

they have a new album out, but i havent been keeping up with them as much. they can be found on myspace here http://www.myspace.com/iiitttppp

Personally, I would recommend Ananda Shake - Inside The Sound. That’s the album that got me into psytrance.
