Some great movies.  Some I’ve seen, some I’ll need to check out.

I’d like to recommend (very highly) Akira Kurosawa’s Dreams.
8 short films in one, it is a visual and mental journy worth taking for everyone.

Another good one I saw back in the day was Wax: or the Discovery of Television Among the Bees.  A low budget art house movie, it is hard to find but if you don’t mind watching it in segments, you can find it online here:

2 others, though not really movies, are the complete seasons of Ren & Stimpy and Invader Zim.  Back to back viewing pleasure.  smile

Yes, Baraka, and Koyaanisqatsi / Powaqqatsi as well.

The “Mind’s Eye” series is also good, though the computer animation is a bit dated at this point.  Planetary Traveler and Infinity’s Child make good use of the 3D program Bryce in their animations.

Was Headcandy: Sidney’s Psychedelic Adventure mentioned before?
Because that is a pretty intense experience!

Exotic Robotics:Pleasure141x and the Animusic videos are way cool as well.

I loved that film. One of my favorite, if not my favorite, by Akira Kurosawa. Unbelievable cinematography.

Even without tripping? Do you have to be on drugs when watching those movies listed above?

No, but it couldn’t hurt.

Some of them, like the audio/visual animation programs, might be a little boring otherwise though…

Not necessarily “trippy” in the traditional sense, but David Lynch movies are pretty cool. You have no real chance of understanding them while high, but it’d be cool nontheless.
