[quote author=“TwoPynts”] Heheheh, and you understand them sober?

I actually do, sometimes. Takes A LOT of concentration and reading of theories on the Internet, but it’s really awesome when you do get them.

Yeah, old Davy is quite a cerebral guy.  He things outside of the box, and few levels down and sizeways as well.
LOL

Some great movies posted so far.I am somewhat surprised that the Jodorowoski films have not been mentioned.

For sure,The Holy Mountain is an excellent movie to see whilst ‘trippin’,for that matter, this movie is mind blowing enough while your sober!

Someone said ‘The Trip’ another great movie,a little ‘hollywood’ IMHO,I think Psych Out is a little more trippy.I still lmao when I see Nicholson in that ‘band’.Priceless

I love to watch Pink Floyd at Pompeii when I eat the blue fungi

If the words ‘life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness’ don’t include the right to experiment with your own consciousness, then the Declaration of Independence isn’t worth the hemp it was written on.

[quote author=“EbelEyes”]Well I’d say the most recent one I’ve seen was “The Fountain”

Simply amazing.

For all fans of Requiem for a Dream and Pi, director Darren Aronofsky is back and just as good as he always was.

At least I thought it was awesome.

Anyone else see it?

Yeah, I’ve seen it, and quite frankly it was life altering. I was smacked back in the seat with awe (watched it at the cinema, adds very much since it’s very audiovisual). The theme of the movie is quite trippy, and probably hard to get under the influence, but the artwork and music will make this MINDBLOWING to watch under the influence. Quite frankly I’ll try this as soon as possible, and give you some replies as to how it went wink

I’d recommend Alejandro Jodorowsky’s “Holy Mountain” (1973). Hard to describe, but someone in imdb had posted a rather pithy comment on it:

“A Christlike figure wanders through bizarre, grotesque scenarios filled with religious and sacrilegious imagery. He meets a mystical guide who introduces him to seven wealthy and powerful individuals, each representing a planet in the solar system. These seven, along with the protagonist, the guide and the guides assistant, divest themselves of their worldly goods and form a group of nine who will seek out the Holy Mountain, in order to displace the gods who live there and become immortal.”

-J

E: oh, Asydhead had already mentioned that one, well, here’s an other one: “Stalker” by Andrei Tarkovsky (1979). One of my all-time favourites.

don’t miss the fantastic cult movie Zardoz with Sean Connery
the whole concept is like something written on a trip and has
everything sex, surreality, riddles, psychedelia, magic plants,
vortexes, flying godheads, more sex, insanity & an amazing
contrasts of peace & violence.
and dont forget the wizard!

The movie ‘Renegade’ with Michael Madsen is a definite must-see.  On the surface, it will appear to be a typical Western action movie.  Just wait for the latter half - ayahuasca plays a major role and whoever did the CGI *really* knows what they’re doing.  It’s by far the best representation of psychedelic visions that I’ve seen (though it’s far from the real thing).  Far better than Fear and Loathing in that department.

Loads of films mentioned here that I love.

Heres some more wierd sometimes trippy films:

Tetsuo - has anyone else seen this?
Brazil
fragile machine
Begotten - a very dark film
Eraserhead - dark again really, almost depressing. It struck me as being someones nightmare or somthing like that
naked lunch - only watched this once, very wtf is going on film
Monty Python
braindead

What about The Prisoner tv series? I think its great.

I also love the qatsi trilogy and Baraka, there is once called Chronos by the guy who did baraka. Another one in that style but different is Bodysong, its kind of about life really and experiences, it goes through birth, love, sex, violence, death and dreams, its film fotage from archives ect. put together.

oh yeah almost forgot Ive also seen catsoup I thought it was brilliant too

I thought The Last Mimzy was a trippy movie. kind of a kids movie I guess, but its cool cause it talks about unlocking the brains potential

one movie that anyone on psychedelics should stay far away from is Natural Born Killers. that entire movie is just one big mindfuck all the way through

Good amount of awesome film there on this list! I would like to add “Tekkon Kinkreet” and “Renaissance” to it.
