Its a video i made for my latest song, and i just wanted to see what people thought of it   I reckoned the Twisted community would be the ones most likey to appreciate it   If you like it, share it!

And why aren’t you signed by Twisted??? Nice stuff even if it is very similar to Ott’s style (love the solid rumbly bass). Nice production skills.  : )

Although I’m not too fond of dub music, I must say that your track is quite well produced and the video is great…love those drops on spider webs and caterpillars!

Thanks!! Yeah, i was pretty pleased with the level of production on this one, even if the music is a bit too obviously derivative of Otts style..

@ ZhArKo Yeah, i love macro images like that too, specially water drops etc. the insect + nature footage is all from a film called Microcosmos which i first watched on mushrooms. it was cool   Awesome insight into the world of insects..

@ Airspeed Hahaha.. well.. i gotta tell you… It is pretty much all done in Reason (Rewired through Nuendo) haha though i started using em way before i’d even heard of Ott, i swear! lol Also use an m-audio midi keyboard, m-audio fastrackpro interface, few guitars + 1 good mic, but thats about it. oh and i recnetly got a korg nanokontrol as a weak replacement for some actual hardware to play with.

Very nice, enjoyed both the music and video. Mandelbrot fractals are a bit cheesy and overused though, which is my only criticism. Look forward to seeing more from you in the future!

If you got the production skills to reproduce something of the same quality standards of OTT, which is obviously a very HARD thing to do, why not create your own thing?

Btw, is that an actual bass guitar on the song?

@ Generix; Haha, yeh, ive tried, i do have quite a lot of stuff which sounds a lot more original (i think). but i guess the main reason is that i just have a LOT of fun making this kind of dubby stuff. Glad you enjoyed it anyways No, its not a real (or sampled) bass, ive tried loads of times to get a similar sound from a real bass, but to no avail. Its just a few layered sines, slight tube distortion and a load of compression.

@ Fidgetpants; I dont think i’ll ever get tired of fractals   ever. in fact i tried “something” new just the other night, and my brother stupidly found a 45 min video of the mandelbrot set. 45 mins staring into infinity lol. but yeh, i know theyre overused..

Yeh man, i thought i’d completely nailed it sound-wise, but your right, its sounding slightly dull on the high end, i might even take the bass down a bit (gasp!). but yeh, it needs another mix, cheers for pointing it out though, it took me a while to notice

I could be wrong, If I really was to judge the quality of the mix I would need a better quality MP3… and preferably a wave. From what I hear in this version, the bass sounds a little too loud, or maybe even a lot. But then again, might be just the quality. It’s all great anyhow.
