Anyone else going? The line up is perhaps the most incredible one I’ve ever seen anywhere. Shpongle + YB live is gonna be totally awesome, and off course the Prometheus and Ott sets. And some of my old heroes are playing too, like Union Jack. :D Lots of good chilly psybient too, with vibrasphere, carbon based lifeforms, solar fields etc. But shpongle and YB is definitely the highpoint for me.

Ozora is a yearly psy festival held in a small village outside of Budapest, Hungary for those who don’t know.

Yeah, the festival is, in terms of the artist selection, one of the best for a couple of years now…and there’s always an artist or two from Twisted Rec playing.

But Shpongle + YB in concert combo blew me away instantly. This year will be my 3rd Ozora in a row, mostly because of Twisted Rec.

The only “downside” of Ozora, imo, is that it is becoming more crowded with every year, so I reckon that there will be around 20,000 visitors this year.

Well, Boom! is only a few days after ozora this year, maybe that will shave a few off the crowd..

Oh, and come to think of it, this may be the wrong forum for this topic.. Sorry..

I wish I could share your enthusiasm but a great deal of people travels from one fest to another…(I envy them for that, wish I had the cash for such an adventuring). In 2008. Boom’s opening day was during Ozora so the crowd wasn’t too big…but last year Boom started a week or something later - whoosh - approx. 14,000 ppl (in 2008 were circa 7,000)!

Nevertheless, Ozora is a great festival, well organized, the fun is great (Benji stated “it’s always a pleasure to play @ Ozora”), music is excellent and I recommend it to anyone who has the desire and means to go.

The lineup had me sold.  My new goal this year is to get the funds to go.  I almost missed seeing Carbon Based Lifeforms on the bill. glad you mentioned them.  This is going to be a great year for live music.

Last year was the 10th anniversary as well, so that might have had something to do with the increased numbers. Either way I’m sure those who had a good time last year will be coming back this year, so I guess you’re right. :/

Do you actually notice the numbers over there though? The area is rather large (3km^2 or something?), so I’d hoped people spread out somewhat.

Oh, yeah, I forgot that t’was 10th anniversary last year…

The area is large but people tend to camp as near to the stages as possible (so do I), because otherwise there’s a long walk until you reach the stage from the far side of the area. That creates the 20-tents-on-2-square-meters-and-gotta-jump-over-every-and-each-one-of-them-in-order-to-get-to-mine problem. That’s perhaps the only thing I’m pissed off about Ozora.

I always arrive at the fest on the camp opening day trying to find a good camping site but even after 2-3 days if someone sees 1sqm of free space in a good spot he will try to put his and his crew’s tents by whatever means necessary.

There, I got pissed off by merely thinking about it. =D

That sounds incredibly tedious.. I was planning on camping a reasonable distance from the stages, but I’d rather be a few more minutes away than sharing a m^2 with twelve other people.. I guess it’s even harder to avoid that situation when traveling alone as well (which I am).

At least try to arrive on the opening day of the camp and find a spot around the chill stage (main is a minute or two away).

Yeah, I was planning on arriving at least the day before the fest starts. smile
Is there any action going on in the camping area before the festival starts, or is it more laid back casual socializing?

It’s a laid back-enjoy the nature-know your neighborhood atmosphere. The only music you can hear is from the shops or someone’s sound system from the car.

The ozora organizer have said that all the artists in the OP are confirmed. That’s good enough for me at least, it’s a serious festival, and they don’t have a record of lying/mis-informing. wink Shpongle and a few other twisted folks played there last year too, btw.

Yeah, they’re quite reliable.

The first and (I hope) the last disappointment I had in them was back in ‘08 when Simon was announced but on the day when he was due we found out that he couldn’t perform because of health problems (at least that was the org’s explanation).
