I’m still being stunned while listening more into Don Peyotes ‘Peyote Dreaming’. again I wouldn’t say ‘better’, but it’s got both playful experiments with psychedelic sound as well as a very refined musicality. And it’s been mastered good too.

cheers for the suggestions. i’ve been thinking about this, but maybe ‘sound engineering’ describes better what i’m referring to. or does that leave it just as vague?
I guess what we’re aiming at is a combination of psychedelic creativity, good music and patient sound engineering. If it were just the last, we end up with Quincy Jones or even Timbaland…
Maybe more like William Orbit, Brian Eno, Nigel Godrich. Not quite all the way as psychedelic as twisted productions, but still a good mix of above qualities.
