I just saw on the tours page that there’s going to be a Shpongle DJ set in Dallas on the 2nd of May. Here on the website, it’s classified as a Shpongle DJ Set. On the club’s website, though, it also says there’s going to be a live Hallucinogen set. They might have just meant that Simon’ll be the one DJing that night, but I was wondering if there will actually be a Hallucinogen set with all the bells and whistles that accompany it, as well. I’m making sense, right? I know Simon’s both Hallucinogen and Shpongle, but I’ve always thought a Shpongle show and a Hallucinogen would be entirely different. I could be wrong, though. I’m already planning on getting Shpongled at the Manifestation Celebration in Austin, but if there’s a chance of being Hallucinogenized the very next day, I’d jump on it.

Oh my god.  It looks like this might actually be a REAL full-fledged Shpongle show!

On the club’s website, it says:

SHPONGLE

with special live Hallucinogen set

Edit:
Well, I guess maybe not…on Shpongle’s website, it is listed as a DJ set.

Also, can someone explain what the difference between a SHPONGLE DJ set and live show is?  I have tried to search and can’t really find a straightforward answer.

Thanks

A Shpongle DJ set is just Simon Posford spinning a set of Shpongle music, usually some sort of visual stimulant, but just Simon on the decks as far as music goes.

The current Shpongle live set consists of live guitars, bass, drums, congos, flute, cello, vocals, computers/keys, the occasional hang drum, and usually some sort of performance art or dancers.
