I meet a couple from Israel in India last month.
We shared a couple of chillums and out of nowhere one of them pointed a finger on my t-shirt and said “I´ve seen ´em live once”.... Turned out that he was a part of the crowd at Shpongle´s first live gig… We exchanged emails and today he sent me a couple of pictures. These are different from the ones at Flickr.

I was under the impreson that Shpongle’s first live gig so to say was back in 2001, Solstice Music Festival in Japan. Thanks for the pictures link though

It was Israel, I believe they talk about it in an interview on the new dvd not sure though. I remember them saying the place smelled like piss, the sound was terrible and just wasnt at all the way they wanted to present Shpongle.

Yep they really slam it in the interview. But I did like one crisp clear photo from this set (661)- thanks ForeverIBurn! (Hope your DVD is coming along- check your PMs!)

They actually did another gig in Israel befor this one.
it was in Eilat and only Simon and Raja were there.
Simon on the electronics and Raja on the flute.

I was there, don’t remember the year but it was beautiful !
minimalistic compared to the big shows they are doing recently, but it was great !

I didn’t go to the second Shpongle show in Israel in 2004 because I knew that it’s going to be a bad one because of the place and organizers.

anyway, I think that the first official Shpongle gig was in Japan.

I would love to have one of those printed tickets… anyone got a spare left collecting dust?
