Is anyone else just totally sick of “Dubstep”?

i don’t like the common dubstep shit because it just sounds annoying to me, with it’s wup-wup-wup and no redeeming quality. there are, however, a couple of great albums which are partly dubstep, or inspired by. for example, that mix dubstep with IDM and psychedelic and/or dark ambient elements.

some of these albums are:

Burial - self-titled and Untrue (probably the best dubstep or two-step or whatever you’ll come across)
2562 - Unbalance (pretty similar to Burial, but less dark and with more acid techno influences and stuff like that)
Eskmo - self-titled (previously released material as Welder which some of you probably know, great mix of experimental electronic, idm and dubstep)
Rudi Zygadlo - Great Western Laymen (somewhat similar to Eskmo, but with more vocals and psychedelic pop influences, and elements from other genres like jazz)
Roel Funcken - Vade (fantastic mix of experimental IDM and dubstep, incredible production on this one)

But yeah all of those albums feature amazing production, the Roel Funcken one stands out though. The guy is part of the electronic outfits Funckarma and Scone.

Thanks for that reply Jonas!  I’m checking out some artists on your list right now…and oh my god Roel Funcken is awesome.
