I greatly admire both of them, but I hate their voices.  Anyone else with me on this?

Terence McKenna (as heard sampled in dozens of psychedelic songs):

Alex Grey (psychedelic artist):

Errr…nope…

Although Mckenna, imo, did speak in a kind of weird tone, it’s far, far away from irritating. Actually, I find it interesting.

MusicHub’s voice bothers me more than either of them.  What a difference perspective can make.

Neither of them bother me one bit, I’ve always found McKenna’s voice relaxing to listen to and almost hypnotic. Grey is a genius and very interesting too, you usually find people like this are ecentric characters.

Like I said, I admire them both a lot.  I’m referring only to the tonal quality of their voices.  smile

hmm, I have always liked the way Terence Mckenna’s voice sounded. It is a very psychedelic sounding voice and it sounds really interesting when its pitched up or down and processed and thrown into a song.As someone else mentioned above,he has a very hypnotic voice. Its almost enchanting.

Your poll needs a 3rd “neither” option

Neither I think both of their voices are actually very pleasing to the ear. I don’t think the only reason so many artists have sampled parts of Mckenna’s lectures is for the content (aside from just honoring his memory)  smile

Agreed. Odd to hear that from Jordan though, he is very talented. Everyone is entitled to their opinion though, no?

I could listen to McKenna all day, I don’t see how you can find his voice annoying. It’s part of what makes him such a fascinating guy. But Alex Grey can be a little tiny bit annoying if i’m honest. In my opinion.

You learn to love them both. Who the hell cares how other peoples voices sound?

I had the pleasure of meeting alex grey a few years ago at one of his fall equinox parties. I sat next to him while on acid and watched him paint, unsure of the divide between what he was creating and what was hyperspace leaking through the quantum foam fabric. He was one awesome dude

That said, if there was a weirdness award out between the two of them regarding their voice, McKenna would win in my book
