That’s a shame. Does anyone now where the D.M.T remixes can be purchased from? I’m currently switching from vinyl to digital djing.
http://www.twisteddownloads.com/ click on Shpongle and scroll down the page and click on Shpongle Divine Moments of Truth. There are 3 tracks there.
Instumental Mix
“?it was like a gigantic creature”.... The opening lines of this record forewarns the listener of the impending scale of this tune. Another huge track from Shpongle (aka Simon Posford and Raja Ram), these DMT Remixes are taken from the highly successful first Shpongle album released in 1998. The remixes show a far more intense side to this ambient project with the culmination of two full on dancefloor stonkers. The Instrumental side is a mix of ricochet-like percussion that rides on a massive bass vibe with a solid kick that builds until it hits a plateau of tribal beats that form into a huge swinging groove accentuated by the bounciest funkiest percussion your ears have ever encountered. These percussive breaks build until they explode into a wave of deep chants and liquid effects where the ‘gigantic creature’ appears again before flicking back into a series of phased drum breaks. At this point the track takes on a solid bass trance as the elastic squelches hover over a pulsing bass and a series of tribal chants. The track spirals higher and higher into a frenzied set of breaks, beats, ethnic chants, and unimaginable effects before dropping back into a kick and fading off into space.
Shpongle Trance Mix
The B side features extracts of the familiar reversed vocal samples and DMT utterings from the original, and more of the ultimately funky ricocheted beats that bounce all over the track while simon builds a solid bedrock of tribal drums and chants beneath them. with the inclusion of some of the lsd samples the track suddenly goes tech. and splinters into a wave of electro melodies. again the “gigantic creature”, appears and now the track breaks down into a thick set of tribal drums loops. phasers, effects, and a chorus of computerised voices float their ambience over the track covering it in an ambient bliss before switching back into the staccato funk breaks of this uniquely effervescent percussion. the lightning breaks and vocal samples fly out at supersonic speed into space and end with the words, “i want to do it again really soon, and take more”.
Shpongle Original Russian Bootleg Mix
This is actually the original mix which was ironically found on a bootleg stall in Russia. When they went to master this EP they found they didn’t have the original copy, only this bootleg. It sounded as good as the original so here it is! The originial but with a story.
