The Australian label Peyotii Recordings presents Pinnacle Of Coil, the debut release by Ascoil Sun (Matti Mikkola & Pasi Salo) from Espoo, Finland. Formed in 2008, the group cites the influence of progressive and psychedelic rock in the development of their otherworldly style of psychedelic dub and downtempo. In the hazy land of the Ascoil Sun live instrumentation will combine with electronics to take you on a psychedelic journey of the senses, transforming throughout the musical story. Guitar and occasional keyboards played by Pasi Salo; keyboards, programming and mixing by Matti Mikkola. Mastered by Felix Greenlees @ Terrafractyl Studios, Australia.

Tracklist:

01 - Wizard’s Magic Haze (68 BPM)
02 - Fellows Of The Imagination (110 BPM)

04 - Don’t Stare At It Too Long (110 BPM)
05 - Shapes Being Invented (Interlude) (100 BPM)

Thanks man!, really appreciate your kind words.

My favorite is also track 4, even tho im not supposed to say it. :D

Its already an “old” piece of music for us - and several types of progression, on many different fields have occured since this got actually finished, almost 1,5 years ago.. well, that does not decrease to musics value.

Hoping for a lot of downloads - and hopefully positive feedback. Prepared for bad, too - of course. =D

I like this album. A nice blend of synth- and organic instruments. I am guessing the piano is actually being played (and is not synthetic), yes? I look forward to more music.

Ah, sorry - i havent noticed a reply on this topic…

Thanks for the comments, im glad you like it.

And yes, the piano is played freehanded, we have a bad habit of just improvising all the elements live on top of the plain base, which we then modify - jamm some more etc.

We are currently making an album which should be pressed, propably early 2011.

Albums context is going to be a bit more “energetic, and there is tons of different vibes on it, but enought of me talking about something that havent happened yet. I will spam it on here when time is right. ^^

( not sure how easy its gonna be to get hold on that album tho, i think its somewhat around 500 copies being pressed, so - its gonna be somewhat a rare piece, well see if it will get on digistores, still not sure about that )
