nice, i love the tracks by dickster found on twisted compilations. any details on a release date?
anyway concerning innovative and recent psy i must recommend:
- mr peculiar - infinite evolution
(cant get enough of that album, soo well produced and so powerful)
- zen mechanics - holy cities
(it’s pretty modern but doesnt lack of any psychedelia. i wouldnt say that it’s too innovative but it’s rock solid and never gets boring to my ears)
if you want something pretty different from the usual psy check out finnish psy aka suomisaundi. though, the stuff i heard did not convert me away from good ole psy (:~
Not all of these are hard psy but they are all psy related.
Zymosis
Astropilot
Tentura
Chronos
saiko-pod
gms
alienapia
Ra
Zymosis is the same guy as Alienapia… not that I don’t endorse this recommendation
RA is amazing, e-Mantra is another goodie, and one of my current personal favorites is Artha. His album Influencing Dreams is the closest thing to Hallucinogen 3 that you are going to hear right now.
ya i knew they were the same dudes, just completely different concept. Kinda like shpongle/hallucinogen. Both really good!
I also suggest the Earth, Fire, water, Air and upcoming Ether comp from altar records. All of them are great albums.
I dont know if this falls under your “Infected Mushroom alike thingy” or not (cuz I dont really care ) but when I first heard stuff from “Principles of Flight” I was pretty much blown away… It’s kinda full on stuff, but as you’re looking for “innovative” stuff, I’d recommend this, as they perfectly blend classical music into psytrance.. Give it a try
Try Fearsome engine - biting point, by tristan and laughing buddha. Not the whole album is good but you should at least check out these tracks: Consciousness conductors, silver liner and new horizon(this one’s a real blast). After months and months of searching for good modern psytrance, this one is probably the best I’ve come across to…
Beside, cosmosis “psychedelica melodica” is a real good compromise between the modern psytrance standard sound and older goa melodic influences, pretty good…

Unfortunately, not yet…But do check his tracks from this and last year’s compilations and there’s also his collaboration with Burn In Noise on a Nano Record’s EP.
Heard his live at Ozora this year…it was mind-blowing.
So i checked out Logic Bomb - Sonic Algebra and Koxbox - U-Turn in the event of this thread. Very good stuff. Amazingly produced, very detailed and psychedelic, and still somewhat melodic without being cheesy. More stuff like that, please.

The number of times I’ve listened to Sonic Algebra and it still sounds so great, the previous albums are just as good. They are so worthy of a Twisted release, I only wish they would do a new album..
Personally I really enjoy the (latest) releases from Nanorecords. The new albums by Chromatone, Avalon and the Master Blasters EP for example are very good.
And although you said don’t recommend Infected Mushroom, I’m still gonna do it: B.P. Empire is really a masterpiece
I agree, Nano records is one of the few labels that’s doing a pretty good job on the psytrance scene today.
Just got myself chromatone’s latest album last week btw, it is pretty good. It may not be the most innovative thing out there, but damn the guy’s got one hell of a psytrance recipie, it works just fine for me
I got the album Tetrameth - The Eclectic Benevolence today. This is some really interesting and unique psytrance here. Dude’s on the australian label Zenon Records, together with Sensient (who runs the label and makes very interesting music too) and a couple others. This album is really glitchy and organic sounding at the same time. I like it a lot.
