Twisted folks:

I really like what YB has done with PledgeMusic.com.  I have an idea to complement that approach - would any of you Twisted artists be willing to release tracks (from any of your projects) to this community for a remix competition?  You could offer a download of the session files / bounced tracks for a donation fee, allow us a couple weeks to remix, have all Twisted folks judge the result, and give the proceeds to a charity of the winner’s choice.  Any interest?

this is a brilliant idea and should be done. it probably won’t be, though.

Seen what I’ve heard on these forums about the financial state of Twisted and such, I’d almost say that Twisted itself needs charity. Charity albums and such are good and all, but only when you can miss it. Adamski had a world hit with “Crazy” (which launched Seal) and gave all the rights away to charity (thinking he’d have a few more hits), last reports about him were gutter-related. Giving to charity assumes that you first have taken care of yourself so others wouldn’t need to give you charity (well unless you’re a holy man).

Well, not for charity maybe, but it would be nice to have a Beatport Remix competition for some Twisted artist…They charge for downloading the stems, so they’d probably get a bit of dosh, plus publicity, and if it is indeed a Beatport competition, it would be more interesting as it wouldn’t attract only psytrance buffs, and the entries would be more diverse musically (last thing we need is 100 pop trance/dark psy remixes of Twisted material…hands off!).
