I didn’t like it but I hadn’t heard it properly. As has been said ‘They need to make money’ and after what some people did with the Shpongle album (putting on filesharing things) who can blame them for trying to appeal to a wider audience? It is still psychedelic and beautiful. I love it and I bet you 50p the album will be splendid.

it’s quite sad/funny that the best song on the album by far is the ‘younger brother remix’ of night lead me astray.

i can only hope that they’ll do a full remix album of vaccine.

bring back younger brother!

People won’t always remember what you say, but, they will always remember how you make them feel.

They know that people on the internet will share the files. And their choice of musical style should have nothing to do with filesharing - if NLMA becomes more popular than their earlier albums, what makes you think that Vaccine won’t be shared on the internet as well? You make it sound as if Simon, Benji and Ru are struggling so hard to earn their daily bread, that they’re forced to make music that they don’t want to make. To formulate more powerfully, you make it sound as if they have lost their artistic integrity. And if this is indeed the case, then I do blame them for that.

What makes you want back them up, even now that they’ve started making cute pop music?

I’ll bet you 50p against the album being splendid. The EP has lead me to believe that there will be this sort of singing ± clichéfilled production on every track. And that makes me think that either YB are so hungry, they are now queueing up in the foodline of the MTV cafeteria - or that they’ve just lost their touch…

Still, I look forward to hearing the album. Maybe it will be really good. I hope so.

I still think it will be a good album but I hope NLMA isn’t on the album.  I guess at the gig last week they would have played alot of new material but there hasn’t been any discussion on the forum about either night.  There were a couple of YouTube links which looked good, one with a new track forget which one though.

On Facebook there was all very positive comments about the YB gig so as always an open mind is best..

I’ll definitely still get the album, although I agree that I hope NLMA isn’t on it.  To echo the sentiments of many on this board, I can appreciate the quality of this music but the style is not for me.  I’ll never criticize an artist for trying a new style, so I support YB in what they’re doing.

The YB remix is the only track on this EP that I would really be able to listen to.  There are definitely great components to everything on here (for me, the instrumental and electronic aspects), but the parts that I don’t enjoy as much (vocals/lyrics) make it very difficult for me to get into it.

This style definitely has broader appeal, but I don’t think that YB’s intentions in experimenting are commercial.  I can understand how an electronic musician would want to do something that involved more live instrumentation, so I don’t blame them.  It sounds like they’re getting positive feedback on this EP, so maybe this will attract new listeners.  I would hope that those new listeners would dig back through YB’s catalog and check out A Flock of Bleeps as that is the YB that I know and love.

NLMA might not do it for me, but most of the other little samples I’ve heard from YB recently sound quite good, and if they’re equivalent to Radiohead, well that’s high praise. I’m guessing the album will be tight.

I like it!!  It’s beautiful and psychedelic… Yes, it does seem a little more mainstream and the lyrics take over a lot of the song, but I couldn’t have heard it at a more opportune time… felt that I related to the feeling of it so much. ^_^  Wistful.

i’m sorry, but the song-writing doesn’t hold a candle to radiohead. that’s just ridiculous.

Ive been wondering the same thing. I hope so. The huge artwork that you get from buying The Last Days of Gravity on Vinyl is great. Having Storm’s prints as vinyl sleeves is an amazing thing. I really hope Vaccine ends up on vinyl as well.

You can buy Last Day’s prints from Stormsight all signed and numbered..tasty.

The other interesting thing is that since the live gig over a week ago no one has posted anything to say what the new material was like or the set list?
