I have come across this interview from a year ago. notice what simon is saying about music with word and especially electronic music with words on the end of prt 2 and the beginning of part three of the interview..

Makes you think once again what ever made him do NLMA

besides that it’s a very good interview, and I hope it will turn out to be a good album after all.

He was referring specifily to clichee love songs. Further into Part 3 he mentions many influences (among zillions of others) like Radiohead, Massive Attack, Portishead, Dead Can Dance, Bob Marly, Jimi Hendrix, the Smiths, the Cure.

You know I find it strange, that when one talks to many rock fans, one must start defending the soul of electronic music (like simon in the interview) - and on the other hand must defend the fact that lyrics can take you to new & intresting peerceptions as well.

Novelty alway arises in that moment in which you combine two old ideas that were previously considered as completly seperated and unrelated, e.g. Electro-Magnetism.
