What is rationalism? Is there a difference between that and rationality?

‘Negativity’, ‘inner dialogue’, ‘self empowerment’, psychic compartments’, and ‘god’ are all meaningless concepts to me.

Rationality is a tool, rationalism is a dogma, i.e. a concept that claims to be the only explanation for everything. An exclusiveness that it inherited from monotheism.

is the track single ladies by beyonce ripping off psychic gibbon? if its not, someone pointed it out and now its all i hear. (sorry, i warned you)

Last days.. was released october 2007

I am…Sasha Fierce was released a year and a month later.

the main chorus “if you like it then you shoulda put a ring on it” is a sped up version of psychic gibbons main riff.

beyonce http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4m1EFMoRFvY

psychic gibbon at around 2.04 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d34hJwMhVto

i suggest tinfoil caps now my friends.

Come on, you can’t compare the two just because of one little melody, which is pretty standard by the way, I’m sure you can hear that in load of songs. And these aren’t even the same chord changes.
Anyway you need to get out of this vicious circle, have you considered to stop listenning to Beyonce for a while? ;-p

. But many people who I’ve talked with in other forums seem to be part of a even bigger conspiracy:  Rationalism.

Thanks for pointing me to wikipedia, but I was hoping you’d explain how rationalism is a conspiracy, and how it is relevant at all to the link I posted.

If we are going to discuss dogmatism, I would suggest that those who harbor prejudice against any ideas that vaguely resemble a “conspiracy” are more dogmatic in their dismissals than those who have enough of an open mind to evaluate more than an article’s worth (if that) of evidence.

You got me all wrong digitalex. I’m not trying to convince or sell you anything. Ignoring the grey zone between black & white is not helpful. My 1rst point was that, with only

phigital - 06 December 2010 08:30 AM

... circumstantial evidence…

and

phigital - 06 December 2010 08:30 AM

... without a genuine ‘Watergate’, it’s fruitless to waste to much time with them….

We all know the Trilateral Commision & the Bilderberg meetings exist. And we can imagine what they’re up too. We have enough circumstantial evidence to know we’re not just paranoid. But as yet not enough to actually go to court with it.

The second point I would like to refrain more simple:

If I was to choose between

a) Shpongle should spend all day on forums participating in the info wars

b) Go in the studio and make Shpongle #5

I would without thinking, instantly say (b)!

So, yes it’s good that some people work at finding more proof, while others create art, still others do science etc. Reading between the lines is what more people, do than you might think. While others are intentionally ignorant.

PS: Do they have tinfoil caps at ebay?

If you sing “if you like it then you shoulda put a ring on it” to the guitar melody then you’ve got it.

The Gaga link is dead, but this one is even better:‘Telefon’ Parody

No, I think I understand you quite well.

I never suggested you were trying to convince or sell me on anything. And exactly what “grey zone” am I ignoring?. You are saying that without die hard evidence to take action against any “sinister” group, it’s a waste of time to…learn? Really? As a way of escaping something you feel is “negative” so that your “inner dialogue” won’t get worked up into a frenzy?

I just find it funny that you go on about what is “fruitless to waste much time” on, and you post a link to a gaga parody video, which you obviously find worthwhile to watch. Personally, I find it more fruitful to stimulate my intellect by reading a well written, referenced and intriguing article so that I may understand what seems to be mindless, nonsensical media from a different perspective.

I suppose you would be looking for a tin foil hat, what with calling rationalism, of all things, a conspiracy.  wink

You tend to read between the lines, without reading them. You only react to certian triggers, that fit to your concept of a scapegoat.

As a starter:

Interesting link.

I read both articles. I spent 2 minutes with ‘Gaga²’, and 30 minutes following your links. It’s nothing new to me, having read W.Burrouhgs & R.A. Wilson in the 80’s and being part of the TOPY/PTV movement in the 90’s.

Our idea back then of spraying ‘23’s’ graffitis was to take back the power ( = selfempowerment), by (ab)using their tools for our anarchistic motives.

I take it English is not your first language, because I have no idea what you are talking about.

So, I suspect if it’s nothing new to you, then it shouldn’t have gotten your internal dialogue into such a frenzy that it caused you to make the tired old “tin foil hat” remark. It is an interesting read and probably many more out there that would trump watching a gaga parody, yes?

SO, where did all this existentialism and conspiracies and such come from - especially in relation to Beyonce and Gag-a? Thou art forgetting that all this stuff is simple and blatant marketting (and if you work therein: please, kill yourself), who’ll use anything to sell another t-shirt. Now chill a tad and stop watching so much MTV, take a stroll outside, enjoy the season.

Warning: If you are reading this then this warning is for you. Every word you read of this useless fine print is another second off your life. Don’t you have other things to do? Is your life so empty that you honestly can’t think of a better way to spend these moments? Or are you so impressed with authority that you give respect and credence to all that claim it? Do you read everything you’re supposed to read? Do you think every thing you’re supposed to think? Buy what you’re told to want? Get out of your apartment. Meet a member of the opposite sex. Stop the excessive shopping and masturbation. Quit your job. Start a fight. Prove you’re alive. If you don’t claim your humanity you will become a statistic. You have been warned

Maybe you should direct your rant at the author of the article, or maybe the Daily Mail for posting the first link to it? I find comments like yours are best understood to be self-referencing and therefore self-loathing, since “thou” obviously don’t value your own advice and “art” too busy being a blowhard to catch the irony.
