Oh man this is absolutely awesome.  It always feels *almost* too long between each Twisted release, but the outstanding quality of each release seems to make me forget about that wait.

Anyways, after giving this thing a few spins, I can definitely say I like it.  Has that old-school cool of Robot-O-Chan, but with a definite laid-back feel, and some little bits of madness here ‘n’ there.  A little bit all over the place, but it definitely fucking flows nicely.  The newer (are they?) versions of Colt and Taylor’s Machine sound absolutely kickin’.  I can’t wait to smoke a fatty of some premium and listen to this sucker.

Thoughts, anybody?

I agree, the flow is quite excellent and cinematic in its scope! This is random, but I actually heard a Brian Eno lecture last night and he mentioned that Steve Reich’s “It’s Gonna Rain” was one of *two* seminal recordings for him, and “Rush” quotes a famously similar Steve Reich recording…

edit- similarly famous

I agree. This is indeed an innovative album with fusion between old and new styles , between psy and deep down tempo tunes.

It takes a few times of listening to understand and enjoy the sounds but with no doubt another excellent product from Twisted and Benji .

Thumbs up!!

I had another listen to Spike yesterday and it’s an album I’m always going back to, all the tracks are so good.  I wouldn’t call it psy just quality electronic beats, there isn’t a filler on it..

Another thumps up for Spike from me! I wasn’t too impressed at first, but now, a couple of months later, I listen to it at least twice a week. No filler tracks, everything’s just great. Looking forward to the next album from the Benji.
