I have been trying to figure out how Ott makes his awesome bass patches.

It’s something I just can’t seem to put my finger on.

I’ve tried - sine bass through lowpass, triangle through lowpass, triangle and sine through lowpass, and all of the above through multiple filters and bandpass filters.  I get low, low frequency basses but the high end isn’t there, not that there is much high end in Ott’s basses, but the notes are very clear cut and discernible for the most part.

Can someone help?  Maybe Ott himself? smile

Here’s an example of the bass sound I’m talking about -

How about trying real bass? sampled or not.

If sampled, the sample is better to have long long tail, that way pitching/bending etc etc is not a problem.

Then just run it thru comp, eq, some filters and either chorus or phaser setted the way you desire. Works for me atleast.

Thought i havent been trying to reproduce the ott-bass, i think it has a bit similar touch.

Just an idea for you.
