I think bandcamp ripped me/some of us off. Inside reads, CD-R 80 CWLHT-TN-0042   0314.” Its got pixellated text, and is coded, ‘ott001.’
What kind of artwork is on the inside of a legit copy? I think I’ll send bandcamp an email.

How are they different other than the physical format and label?

Nobody has ripped anybody off.

There are no ‘non-legit’ versions of ‘Mir’ - all were manufactured and supplied by the same company and all are manufactured to the same standard. All have been dispatched by either me or people known by me.

If anybody has a problem with their CD please pm me with the details.

Are do you reconcile two different versions?  Not talking shit at all here.  Mir is fantastic.  Just curious.

Well, there is though.  There’s a CD (“glass-mastered”, I guess) and there’s a CDr, which looks exactly like one would expect: greenish tint, with a clear distinction between data burned and empty media.  I’ve got the CDr, which is stated clearly on the inner label.  I don’t really care about the version, personally, as I feel fine knowing I’ve supported your work.

Others might be a bit disconcerted.

As long as its legit - I do not care. I did not want to support something like that. The CD-R plays fine. I am happy.

Having spoken to the manufacturer the situation is this.

Because I ended up remixing a couple of the tracks the mastering date got put back which delayed the release of the CD. In order to fulfil demand we paid extra [quite a bit extra as it goes] to have 100 CDs jump the queue and get made two weeks before the rest of the run. These initial 100 were manufactured as CDr instead of being pressed from glass. People who ordered first got these.

If anybody has one of these first 100 Cds and would like to exchange it for one of the others please let me know and I’ll be happy to exchange it.

oooooouuuuuuu! 1 out of 100 - pretty cool! So the CR-R’s are rare? I might get a glass-pressed one too then!

Sarcasm? Pretty sure you knew you accidentally created a collector’s item there… After the fact, of course smile

Good business move on your part;)

I now have a collectors item, and will buy a regular CD as well smile
Thanks for clearing this up. And love the CD, no matter if it’s CDr or proper glass-master.
