I am ‘in control’ in as much as I get to ok the masters as they are done but I am wise enough to leave the nuts and bolts of the mastering process to somebody way more skilled than me. My input can essentially be summed up as looking up from my magazine every 45 minutes and going “Fucking hell, Kev, that sounds great!”
Great to hear that you will be working with Kevin Metcalfe again. After hearing how he improved upon Rogue Bagel, (comparing The Twisted 10 Year Anniv. CD to Skylon), I’m convinced he’s got to have an extremely fine-tuned mind/ear coordination. I wonder what he is actually doing in his studio.
By the way, if someone’s interested in taking a fun little visual/musical test, check this out:
So, am I right in understanding this will be a download-only release? Ott did not mention “CD” anywhere and considering it is/was just now being remastered, I can’t see how it can be printed before the release date.

Too bad, really :(
Hey - why the crumpled face?
It will be released as a download [all formats - mp3, FLAC etc] initially and then CDs will become available as and when they get made, possibly a week after the download release, probably more like two or three.
This wasn’t part of the plan, I just took longer to mix the album than I was meant to [damn OCD] and steamrollered my deadline. As it takes two weeks at least to manufacture CDs and only a matter of hours to make the download available the download will be available first.

Oh, if that’s the case then there’s no problem at all. I’m one of those who can’t appreciate something which is only digital and need to have the actual physical release on the shelve to feel I bought & own it. I know it’s stupid in this day and age (even more so considering I rip the CD right away to mp3 and almost never touch it again) but yeah, sue me.
Anyway, I’m really glad it will get proper release as well! Can’t wait to buy it!!!

Would you believe that I actually replaced the album version with the Twisted DVD version, on my iPod… I think it sounds better; more bass?

Same here. And agreed.
The album version is just…flat and lifeless compared to the Twisted DVD version…
To my ears at least.
Hey Ott I just got tickets for your madison show and I was wondering if you think there might be albums for sale at it? I am so pumped for mir/ seeing you drop it live I can hardly contain myself.

I don’t know, I’ve overshot my deadline a bit so there will probably be a delay between the downloads becoming available and the CDs showing up.
As I’m travelling pretty close to my baggage limit I’ve made the decision not to carry CDs on this tour.
