HI all ,

Si and Benji released another video on you tube here’s the link
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z2mchCfsoLY

it’s mainly about the new album, how it was made, the people who are in the making of it and the reason of why it was made. Excuse me for being rude but I’ve heared all this before and my feeling from this video and from all of si’s and benji’s last interview about this subject are of people trying desperatly to find excuses for making this album, and it feel’s like they are almost apologizing about it’s style. ohh
Now as a big big big fan of YB, Shpongle, Prometheus and Hallucinogen grin  I can say that I really felt bad for them. I felt bad seeing them wriggle around their studions uncomfortably as they try to defend their work even vefore it was released. I must say that I M one of those who fear this new album and it’s new musical line,I fear it marks the end of the Twisted style i’ve known and loved for the past 15 years. I have nightmares in which I see Simons face on Skazi’s body holding a guitar and making loud noisy music vampire or even worste then that i see an image of Simon as Infected’s Amit Duvdevany singing, my point is that i’m affraid that this might happen but then again I do remember it is Simon and Benji after all and they are by far the most tallented musicians in this field by my taste and with all my fears I think that they should do what feels right for them and not have to feel sorry about doing what they love.

Even if me or other fans might not love it you will probably get new ones who will and as for us.. we’ll allways have your old music to enjoy.

I’ve kind of wrote too much but to conclude I want to address Simon and Benji (if you guys are still around here) and tell you to relax and not to worry so much, Vaccine will be great and we will all love it, even if it takes us a while wink

Without having seen that video - I think it might be possible that the new album’s style is influenced by post-punk and new wave bands of the 80s/90s, like The Cure, Echo & The Bunnymen or The Psychedelic Furs. Just putting that thought out there.

edit: alright so i watched it, and in the end it really does seem like they’re kind of apologizing for taking a step into a different direction. personally, i’m a big fan of all kinds of music. not only all sorts of electronica, but also big heaps of rock, some metal and even some hip-hop. i’m sure it’ll be a great album. i wouldn’t even mind if every song was a vocal track. i say just bring it on.

Same here.  Bring it on!  If it’s different, it’s different…but it will be great no matter what.

Looking forward to this album, Si!

That’s a good point Jonas as the Cure was an early influence on Simon P so maybe it was just time for that to come out in his work. After posting feedback already about Night lead me… I’m kinda relaxed about the new album and just keeping an open mind with the change of direction, I think it will be very different but then again will show the broad talent of Benji & Si.

I’m sure the forum will be a good read come March… smile

Things are always going to come with opposition, opinions, critiques, or whatever. Whatever happens, happens. Everyone is allowed creative opportunity, great composers included (Walter Ego, Dub Trees, Infinity Project, etc…); only this time, its not a pseudonym. I say, ‘Lets have it !!!’

if we look apologetic its probably because we always get nrevous before a release - we always think no one will like it and the forums will eat us alive- i think if we’d done video of us in the studio during flock of bleeps ot last days of gravity you woould have seen us looking sheepish , wondering if everyone was going to hate ‘all i want’ becuase its got a vocal on it….....

I guess if as producers your always wanting to push things with ideas and current technology it must be hard with such a passionate fan base to not sit there and think how it will be reviewed. The ego as the questioning part of the mind always seeks approval, so everyone suffers from it whatever they do.

However I hope you didn’t get nervous before the Spike release..
wink

I’m sure it will be great since it’s made by you guys. If you’ve decided to take a new direction (like Infected Mushroom) there will be some old fans put off but many will still follow you aswell as you’ll be getting new fans. Personally i still like infected. It isn’t psytrance anymore but i still think they are great artists. If you feel you can’t stay then you gotta move on. Simple as that. smile

You gotta follow your inspiration and make the music you want, otherwise it wont be good.
