This was a link posted on the YB page for their new track remix which Si & Benji have done.  Just wondering what regulars think of it? personally I’m not keen on it but I’m sure it will have mass appeal. Glad to see they have plenty of gigs coming though…

It’s pretty cool! Kind of Spektre-ish.

I liked it. Its a different sound but its not bad.
Very interested in seeing how the album as a whole is going to sound.

This is pretty cool.  More of an industrial sound than a psychedelic sound to me, so it’s different but I’d listen to this.  Much more than I’d listen to something like the original Night Lead Me Astray which was too heavy on the vocals for my taste. 

I like it.

Not keen on it either, so many things to say about it. But first thing that come to my mind is: Autune! Well younger brother and shpongle have been using it extensively over the past decade, but it was such in such a creative and freaky way, to create weird alien voices or strange atmospheres. Now on this new record, they’re still doing it but in a very CONFORMIST way, just like in commercial mainstream music, justin bieber and crap…

I’m still curious to see how this new album is going to work as a whole…

Y’know this is really proving to be difficult for us long-time Twisted folk to fathom- it is clearly going mainstream, but then again, who in the mainstream would buy it? And the gang on the forum aren’t about to turn into 12 year-old girls. It’s coming soon so we’ll all get to audition it and decide then…

It’s interesting…I like the dark vibe contrasted with the repetetive “shine” lyrics. Dark Star comes to mind. also like that although not as filled with surprise as previous YB, it will have more mainstream appeal. It’d be pretty amazing going to a gig for the first time having heard only songs like this one and have your head melted by older tunes.

In the opening line when I said it would have mass appeal to me it’s very safe and dance music by numbers, It’s very generic and I can imagine it being played in big dance clubs.  But I think they probably had to rethink things and the sytle etc to try something different to what they normally do.

Dispite this I’m really excited for them for this year and beyond with the YB project, they deserve big attention and success which looks like is coming.  Great to see the gigs planned for the US too and think it will pave the way for future success.

The forum bods here are always going to be a bit more in depth about subjects such as this and I include myself in that.  I’m very curious about the new album now and was listening to Train yesterday, it sounds amazing..

I do hope that they find the time for more Shpongle, Hallucingoen (cough) & Prometheus..
