Edit: I forgot, it’s not a twisted release. So no need for this new thread.
Mods, please delete. Thanks!
I’m sure Twisted HQ won’t mind us dicussing it on here! I’m gonna hang on for the CD which I think is out in 2 weeks’ish before I listen, which was what Ott mentioned on Facebook.
ive been listening to the streams on the bandcamp site and it sounds just like ott always sounds. production is amazing, the song writing is pretty dope, and the whole package is badass. i can’t wait to get it on cd!
No time for a full review and I’ve only had one chopped up listen driving from place to place today, but I can say that I was driving with a CHESHIRE SIZED GRIN ON MY FACE BECAUSE THIS ALBUM IS THE BEEZNAZZ!!! Nothing short of amazing, though a couple tracks (1 and particularly 5) bored me a little bit. I’m sure I’ll come to love every last second of it, though.

“A Nice Little Place” (track 5) is probably one of the best ambient(/goa ambient) tracks I’ve ever heard. Try giving it a listen after a stressful day, or when you just need a moment. The title is on purpose: those 7 minutes are really just a nice little place.
What I’m really enjoying about Mir is that it’s not isolated to the ethnic+dub (pardon my very limiting language) feel that, e.g., Blumenkraft had. This entire album feels like a journey; each song evokes different emotions and feelings (Owl Stretching Time is one of the darkest/evil-ist songs I’ve heard in a while), and in that regard, One Day I wish To Have This Kind of Time (track 1, and which I also wasn’t overwhelmed by) is nevertheless a welcome experience because it’s its own song among the others.
Mir feels like an adventure to me. And let us not forget that it’s Ott’s creation—this album leaves no doubt that he isn’t limited to any genre. Ott, creator of worlds! This definitely rivals Hallucinogen In Dub as my favorite album of all time.
It’s fun to see everyone’s approach and take on an album like this.
Some people dive right in and listen to it nonstop on repeat.
Some take it gradually…listening occasionally, working their way through it.
Others wait for the ‘ideal’ moment, listen to it once, then stash it away. Not to be listened to again…for a very long time.
I think these ‘diverse approaches’ of the audience define a true masterpiece…

HaHa! Thanks for the tip! Now that I am at home, enjoying a spliff, and not in traffic listening to it, I realize this is the best ambient music experience I’ve had since I first discovered The KLF - Chill Out. It also reminds me why I am on a forum to talk about this incredible music. Cheers!
Honestly this news album from Ott is a very very nice surprise. He somehow managed to remain true to himself and his influences yet, he still incorporates just what’s needed of new elements to make it interesting and moving forward musically.
I’ve listenned this morning on stream the other tracks, some of them seem fabulous, but to me at first sight, Adrif in Hilbert space will be the big winner of this album, it just so freaking brilliant. And funny, even though I always loved the sound of dubstep and I think it held great potential, I could never really stand its electro/urban influences, but with this track Ott finally pulled up the kind of dubstep I always secretely wanted to hear, a kind of mix between the shpongle universe and the sounds of dubstep
Like others, I’m still gonna wait for the CD release to have a real careful listen to this new album. And damn is it a hard wait
