A solid handful of new tracks were thrown in, and they were all awesome.
That is VERY exciting, especially after the lane change that is Vaccine! (not saying it’s bad or good, just different, and left me still needing new psy…) Does anyone know if Simon’s posted any new Hallucinogen tidbits online anywhere?
i saw that set, and it was underwhelming in many ways.
it looked extremely improvisational, which was really exciting and made for a good show, but it also looked like he wasn’t trying and the new tracks came across as quite banal (i.e. a simple riff repeated ad nauseum). the live drums were probably the highlight of the show.
for a while i was thinking that it looks like he wants to really make people dance again, but i hope that he takes it seriously and really does some work on the new material. although given how long it’s taken since the last hallucinogen, i really doubt simon will release stuff just for the sake of it.
hopefully 2012 will be the year of hallucinogen, and if so, hopefully he will play at the eclipse festival in november
