Me too, but I ain’t buying it twice, and unless my copy gets here soon, signed and not crushed… look, I don’t want to be a pirate (the whole extended album is like “free” all over the web), but I need more incentive to support. Like a feeling of solidarity or mutualism! Cjpience is bang on the money.
Obviously this is a new direction for the band and it’s not going to appeal to everyone, I just hope with all of my heart that the band is heading in this direction because they believe in the sound, and not as some have suggested as a way to maximise profits from it. I’m finding it very hard to convince myself it’s the former.
given how good the new prometheus album was, plus the prospect of a new hallucinogen album soonish, i really really with simon and benji would work together on dancefloor music. they’re both so damn good at it.
ARE YOU FOR REAL??
is this what all of Simon’s history and work will end up as? making dance floor MTV music?? over my dead body!!
way to miss the point. dancefloor =/= MTV and one album =/= all of simon’s work.
i’m saying that they’re both masters of electronic music and that’s what i’d personally like to see them create in the near future.
Still don’t get you.
Dancefloor hits in this forum is usually refered to as cheesy non psy music.
Simon and Benji both would still be doing electronic ,usic - as you say you want them to do - even without releasing Vaccine so what’s your point? they wew perfectly good at all their earlier work but unfortunally for people like me who are in this Janer of music and don’t like anything else it’s hard to change prefrences after so many years and that’s why it’s hard to accept this new path of YB.
This is definitely a fair comment considering that it is a huge departure from the previous YB output, and now it’s a trio and not a duo.
+1 A good idea, and would have allowed people to more easily understand the kind of music you enjoy. As it stands, telling me you’re a fan of YB’s music, I’d probably ask, all of it?
I really enjoy moments of this album. A LOT.
Crystalline, No Safety in Numbers, and Train are the big standouts. WICKED BRILLIANT tracks.
The vocals seem to be a bit too excessive on the album as a whole…
And honestly, I feel the best moments of the entire album are the pure Simon-Benji, ‘non-vocal’ moments.
2:05-2:55 and 3:50-End of Pound a Rhythm, 3:10-End of No Safety in Numbers, 5:40-End of Train, etc etc.
The exception being Crystalline. That track, the lyrics, the voice…just beautiful.

i agree - that’s pretty much what i’ve been trying to say.
I’m only on my second listen so haven’t formed a final oppinion of it as yet but yes why wasn’t Delina did it on the album my jaw dropped when I heard it…
