Hey guys since I know a lot of you on here have spent a lot of time researching/using mid to high end sound systems I could use some recommendations..  I’m looking for a speaker set pretty much for listening only, so i don’t need studio monitors. I was checking into bose but if anyone on here has anything they can personally recommend that would help tons. I’m looking to spend between $200-$300 and would really like to be able to hear lows, mids, and highs pretty clearly.  Thanks in advance for any help guys smile

I’ve ran Bowers and Wilkins for years now and onto my third pair, check ebay and you can pick up some bargins with second hand equipment.  Try the current 686 model but I’m not sure how much they go for, they might be close to your limit.

Other than B & W, Mission have been around for along time and probably a bit cheaper:

Monitor Audio makes some beauties too, above this range they get alot more expensive:

KEF have a solid reputation too, try this range:

Have fun I love hi-fi kit..

Check out Paradigm speakers. I swear by them and have used speakers from their entire range.

In your price point have a look at the Monitor and Studio series.

The Studio series are more expensive new, but don’t be afraid to get an older version from Ebay or Audiogon to save some coin.

Happy hunting.

yes, I second paradigm, they make good stuff, perhaps the best in your price range if your going used.

you could go vintage, KLH speakers, dynaco a-25, B&W dm-4, jbl’s vintage stuff are recommended, I had them all, dynaco a-25 is still with me.

With your price range, I would’nt look further, I would get some dynaco a-25 and recap them.
