Was just coming here to post this. Awesome interviews. Also- bets on Shpongle 5 before 2012 is over?
I’d be suprised if Shpongle 5 is out before 2012, Posford had stated that he was going to start new Hallucinogen material before the end of 2011. As much as I’d like S5 I’d prefer to hear a new Hallucinogen first.
Or he maybe enjoying the Younger Brother band experience at the mo and may just go for that. I’m still skeptical that he’ll ever do Hallucinogen 3 as he always just mentions how much he likes jamming with other musicians, I hope he doesn’t bring live instraments into the Hallucinogen project.
As much as I love Ineffable Mysteries the live instramentation takes the edge off it a bit. First 3 albums 10/10 and shpongle 4 9/10.

Does it matter? The Mayans couldn’t predict the end of their own civilization, let alone our’s.
*edit* if you are referring to that, I should say. Realized I am being presumptuous. Anyway, I can say that I hope it comes out in 2012, but I’m not gonna hold my breath.
Me too I would prefer the new hallucinogen, I’m sick of this 100% plugin trance they all sound the same, no more fun, no more challenge. We need something that comes out of the machines, SH101 or whatever I don’t know but machines sound more warm than plugins… Then Shpongle 5 will be very welcome too, maybe going back to the roots? I’ve listened again to the first album and shit it’s the best!
You can do it Simon
Great news although it’s too early to plan anything as we all know deadlilnes at Twisted are very very flexible
I think that no one wants a new Hallucinogen more then me yet i share Electrobott’s thought on it not going to the instrumental and “band” like style, that would not be a proper hallucinogen album IMO.
Now regarding the new Shpongle I wonder if it will have a USA influence on it as the fourth one had Indian style and the third had Brazil/south america touches - paralel to places Si and Raj spent time in prior to the releases of the albums and if so, what will it be like???

hip hop beats?
raja rapping?
i have NFI what music americans listen to…
LOL! well being an american, I would have to say we mostly listen to very bad music that usually causes slight mental retardation. So I really hope they dont incorporate any of that into Shpongle 5. Now the Indians here used to make some really bad ass music before we destroyed their culture, so it would be really cool for them to incorporate some American Indian vibes into the music I have always thought that would sound awesome.
I think seriously that it’s useless to expect something from Simon, he will do what he wants to do. All I can hope is that he comes up with some kind of concept just like in nothing last, something that holds all the tracks together in a coherent way. And also that Raja Ram gets more involved in the project, because it seems that it wasn’t much the case for ineffable mysteries.
But it’s too soon anyway i guess and I don’t think it’d help him to get a lot of pressure from his fans. It’s gonna take AGES anyway from now…
My personal and irrational hope is that the even numbered shpongle albums were bad, so next one will be good
