so, yeah, Illustrator allows for infinite scalability. You can save files as .eps which are very common vector graphics. The compost image is composed of three shots of compost, each hue-shifted to make the colours wacky and then overlaid in Photoshop. I wonder if making music is like making visual art; when I used to draw on paper I had a little rule of thumb, fill up the first page (total crap), fill up the second page (technique getting better), fill up the third page (ideas are coming), the fourth page is usually art.
