After reading through the thread I see both sides of the coin, I have noticed that new threads get minimum replies and it is the hardcore regulars on here mostly.  Of course when an album is released there’s plenty to talk about and I agree that some people can be a bit rude and not constructive.

Times have changed and I do read the Facebook threads now and again but from a reading viewpoint it’s alot of dribble unless your actually on there when the threads are in motion if that makes sense.

On here I think it’s a more select crowd and not saying superior in anyway just more anorakish maybe..lol.  I’ll be sad to see it go but I guess the other platforms are just more popular these days.

The main priority for me is that new music is released to enjoy.

Yes, I would have to agree that the forum and the facebook page are two very different breeds. Keep the forum ALIVE!

What plays a role in times of low responses in these forums, is that a lot here seem to be very productive themselves. From DJs to musicians, from lyrical creativity to visual arts, there’s a lot going on ‘offline’. When I’m working on something new, I tend to minimize all distractions as much as possible. Sometimes I even buy a CD, and can’t get myself to listen to it, until I’m ready for the consuming part of the game.

Tapioka: i respectfully disagree with your opinion that its easy to run out of things to talk about.  Personally I could disuss the deeper meanings of this music forever, especially with real fans that understand the music and the concepts behind it. And if the artists (or shamans as i consider them, especially Si and Raj) have the time to personally respond to some of these conversations, that is awesome i couldnt ask for anything more.  I find the beauty of this music, Shpongle in particular, infitite.  And with every answer it seems more and more questions arise.

I don’t disagree. However, if you really want to talk about “deeper meanings”, I would guess that the conversations on here would pretty quickly get immensely difficult to follow. Difficult subjects are difficult to talk about, difficult to think about. I simply don’t have the time to spend an hour on these forums every day (and even more time to think about replies). This is not about me, of course, but I consider myself sligthly above the average Joe on this forum, so those “other guys” probably don’t have that much time in their lives either. Devoting large chunks of time on this forum just doesn’t seem to make my life or that of any other being that much better that I think it’s worth it - even if I love Shpongle and all the other music on this label and I’ve put their albums on about 42349 times (and counting smile).

I’ve been a big fan of Twisted for a while now, but only just found the forum when I was looking to submit some music - there’s so much interesting / useful information on here, and it’s more personal than Facebook.

If you want to know what would keep me coming back:

- Publicity / more references to it from Facebook

- Regular (weekly or even monthly) downloads, samples, articles, remix competitions available only on the forum, particularly by twisted artists: a 10 second sample by OTT from all the “shit he makes which doesn’t stick to the wall” (his words!) would actually generate loads of interest!

- Streamline the forum - at the moment there’s too many topics, scale it back

The rest of the conversation would then be based around this.

I do think a forum is a lot better than Facebook, but it’s fair enough if you don’t have the time/energy to keep so many communication lines going.

Anyway, whatever you decide to do, cheers for the info so far!

My two or three cents - I like it here. Because I do not use other ‘social media networks,’ this is my one link to some of the greatest artists, fans, and music anywhere. I’d like it to stay. Thanks.

^ good points, it is very true that these “deep” conversations get extremely diffucult to follow and talk about, were basically trying to describe the other 99.9% of reality using words that are nothing more than reference points to less than a tenth of 1% of reality in my opinion.  So yes it is difficult, but thats part of the fun!
-also i understand ppl usually dont have a lot of time to talk about this kind of stuff on a forum, unfortuneately im stuck in a cubicle all day anyway so i have about 8 hrs a day to talk about it, ( i know, read a book right? lol)

I want to put in my two cents, and as perhaps the only girl regularly on here (please shout out gals if i’m wrong!!), i think i deserve a spot in the discussion..

Simon and forum administrators, you don’t know me at all.  And I don’t know you.  So this is really a stranger begging you for your leniency.  Please don’t close the forum.  I have no one in my life who loves this music the way I do, and no one who’s even willing to consider why it’s important to me, and what that might mean about me.  I come here because I am looking for connection.  I may not be a great poster, and I may not even make a ton of sense, but my hope everytime I sign on is that someone will “get” me, even if it’s just a tiny bit.  Without the forum, I am back to square one.  Understood or not, it’s enough to me that this is a place I get to TRY.  I have to believe I am worth something, and I need to keep believing there’s a place someone could confirm that for me.  So even if that is nothing better than totally pathetic, like I said at the start, please please be gracious enough to let a complete stranger have that place and keep having hope.  If you want money to keep the forum going, I’ll pledge for it.

Thank you for everyting Twisted!!

“It is by attempting the impossible that we reach the highest level of possible”  probably misquoted, and by a great British author, I will find the right reference..

There is still something special about this place. I come very rarely, but always find some interesting thread that chnage my life! for example last time I visited it, it was 3 month ago. ANd Electrobot’s post lead me to buy B&W speaker set smile Now I am enjoying better music sound. Also this forum inspired me to make these a couple of years ago:

Sorry, no, I have made it 3 years ago while learning how to use photoshop, and I have used very low resolution amazonian/jungle image :( Although I spent quite a while on mask’s texture and shadows. I might give it another try soon smile THANKS!
