Telepath

If you like Shpongle, you might also like this new band:

http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=52678021

they’re worth checking out.

you can get their album through their site or the itunes store.

I hope they really take off because they are super talented guys.  saw them live last week and they were even better than on the album.  they’re home town for me (bass player lives in the back apartment of my house), and I’d really like to see this kind of music scene take hold here in town a little bit.

Yeah, I don’t think they really sound that much alike, but I figured folks who like Shpongle would like Telepath.  I find that I enjoy Telepath for a lot of the same *reasons* that I enjoy Shpongle.

[quote author=“Jonas”]Banco De Gaia.

I was surprised to find out that Toby Marks aka Banco De Gaia made Shpongle-like music in the early 90’s already.

His latest album Farewell Ferengistan is the most Shpongle-related music i’ve heard, apart from Phutureprimitve.

(PS. Hi everybody.)

I’m listening to Banco De Gaias ‘Last Train To Lhasa’ right now and have to agree .. It’s got it’s own sound (well, actually predates Shpongle quite far) but definitely a similar vibe. Plus of course it’s an excellent piece of music.

Banco is great, don’t get me wrong.
He’s got a very spritual vibe to his music, but I can’t compare it overmuch to Shpongle.
It is more ‘normal’ if you get what I mean.
