What would the reactions be if I made a remix of a Shpongle-track and linked to it in the Music Production thread. I mean, would this break any rules? I’m just being precautious about this, cause I don’t want no trouble.

I personally think it would be disgracful to remix a Shpongle track…
No matter how good you are.

The only people who should be remixing Shpongle are those that already did in their remix album.

that’s kind of a ridiculous thing to say. trust me, we love shpongle just as much, if not more, then anyone else… but they can still be remixed just like anyone else.

a remix isn’t supposed to be “as good” as the original song… it’s supposed to be a reinterpritation, so it can’t really always be comparable…

now granted, that doesn’t mean that every shpongle remix will be a “good track”... some people just suck

but that’s just our opinion…

I’d be interested to hear it as one or two on the remix album in my oppinion weren’t particularly the standard they should have been - not that I could do any better though.

I believe that Shpongle is perfect just the way it is.

Actually, I didn’t even listen to the Shpongle remix album. I couldn’t bring myself to it.
The only song I’ve heard is OTTs remix. but thats just because hes the only man I know of that could remix a Posford track properly. 

Of course, these are just my opinons…

Nine Inch Nails is perfect the way it is too… but that doesn’t mean it can’t be reimagined in a new light

but we do agree that shpongle is perfect.

Prefer all the tracks in their original format but I agree OTT’s remix is the stand out track for me and everyone who I’ve spoken to.

I’d love to hear a remix of Molecular Superstructure!

As long as we don’t plan on profiting from any of the remixes or releasing them without consent then I’d say we can fiddle around with any of the tracks we want? Surely?

Remixing Posford, well good luck. You realise the expectations and scrutiny one would endure by doing this. As previously mentioned OTT is one that stood out.

Sounds are sounds and if you manipulate the sounds in your own way then a remix can be made and no reason why it shouldn’t be. The only thing is, unless it is s*** hot then it will be criticised as not being as good as the original.

I’d rather take certain ideas from the tracks and tweak my way. Depends on what you wanna do.

By the way fell free to remix my tracks and make them sound better please. No seriously dudes please haha
