Did anyone go to Shpongle’s New Year’s Eve show last year at Hammerstein Ballroom in NYC?  I’m buying tickets for the 28 October show (same venue) and want to know if floor “seats” (standing room only, i believe) or balcony seats would be better..  (I’m pretty sure the tickets are set up the same way as they were for New Year’s Eve.)

Same dilemma I faced for Oakland! I’ve seen Shpongle live once already so I was considering sitting in the balcony for this show; sitting back and watching it all unfold, not having to elbow people out of the way, not be on my feet for hours, all tempting prospects to be sure. But then I thought ‘I want to get crazy’. And that’s the thought that won.

I’ve tried the floor and the balcony seats…As Jahful said, sitting enables you to err…sit -_- and watch as the whole Shpongleland circus unfolds.
But…the floor is where all the fun is, I’d recommend the front rows, even if other people’s elbows can be tiresome.  But so can yours. =D
So, yeah…floor it is.

For me the crowds really spoiled the Halloween 2009 Shpongle in London. People’s elbows and pushing takes you significantly away from the performance. And I’m a tall guy too! I would go with seats all the way.

Couldn’t you take the floor for 1 song and watch the rest from the seat? Or is that forbidden?

It almost happened to me, standing with my gf in the very first row, surrounded by a bunch of kids who thought it’d be very cool to come to Shpongle concert choked on MDMA. =S And then the elbows started working…
