Will we ever hear Younger Brother back to basic, or is Vaccine the new path?
I don’t think the Vaccine album sound like Younger Brother at all. For me it’s catastrophic if Younger Brother turns in to Coldplay for ever.
Last Days of Gravity and A Flock of Bleeps means VERY much to me, but Vaccine is not for me at all.
It’s a real tragedy if the real Younger Brother is lost for ever.
Let them evolve in the direction they want! - they will evolve anyways, and i think exploring such different musical paths is like putting a money in a bank.
By all means, we will always have Flock of the Bleeps and Last days… That music wont die and its great - but i really rather not hear them do the same concept again ( no doubt they could pull it off tho ), i mean - why not search the new vibes? after all these earlier releases imo are a pure result of just going at the great unknown and twisting knobs with a big grin on your face - Thats what its all about!
As im Artist myself, i totally understand the urge of trying and carrying out all sorts of ideas, and i really think that if they wont be doing the art to amuse themselves, its not even worth of doing.
I listened to Vaccine with a completely open mind the first time I heard it, even knowing that everyone was saying that it wasn’t like Flock or Gravity at all…and I loved it. It’s different, but I love it!
It’s a new album, a new sound, and a new experience.
Try to welcome change and appreciate what they’ve done. And if that’s too hard…don’t worry, the electronic version will be out soon
I know that every artist/band evolves, and they should. But they don’t have to lose themselves totally.
Why does every artist/band always have to try to sound like other artists/band? You can say what you want, but Vaccine sounds like things I have heard before. Gravity and Flock is truly unique, vaccine isn’t.

if younger brother makes an album thats slightly more mainstream and radio friendly. that will lead people on a journey through twisted’s catalog. maybe the people who heard coldplay and like the new younger brother delve into more younger brother, into shpongle, maybe hallucinogen or some rajas older stuff.
plus as artists they have creative needs to meet. if you dont like the sound of the new younger brother thats okay, you and the band members will be fine and get over it.

Where is this comparison with Coldplay coming from. Not just you. I’ve heard Coldplay as they have a new album release and it’s being pimped on every public radio station nearly, it sounds nothing like Vaccine. The fine details of Vaccine sets it above anything else that is regarded as mainstream. I think alot of folk are caught up with the vocals which have a similar sound but take away them and you have some fantastic, brilliant music. The vocals then add to it

If you wonder why so many thinks it sounds like Coldplay, it’s because it does. I think I have a different entering to Younger Brother type of music than you have. I HATE Coldplay and many other mainstream garbage with all my heart. Mainstream music is for sheep’s, and I’m not at all a sheep.
I’d like to express a turn off I have listening to Poun a rythm. It is quite awful, no offense at all. Artistically is excellent but the result? Not for me.

I have heard the remixes and they sound okay. I even bought b-sides and outtakes, but YB isn’t what it was and should be any more…:(

You’re right it is not what it WAS. However it is what they, the band, want it to be and that’s what it SHOULD be.
If you don’t like it, don’t listen to it. If you bought it and are disappointed that is a shame.
I state again. Nothing like Coldplay(apart from the sound of the vocals). If you can listen past the vocals and hear the music, the intricate, fine details. You may realise this album is the work of friggin geniuses/genii.
