Time to show off your studios. Mine is a basic setup but it has what I need for the time being.

I wanna see CW’s. I bet it is awesome. Just like his music

Its a garbage mess hole right now, due to university finals.
(Haven’t had time to clean, eat, or sleep the past two weeks.)
Thankfully things will calm down next week sometime so I can clean it up for pictures.
Should probably hang those android prints too…

Good stuff James. I always appreciate smalll simple setups. smile
Exciting to see you back into studio action.

whats the synth?

Thanks CW.
It’s not a synth. It’s a CME UF5 MIDI Master keyboard. However it’s not fully functional because when CME brought out their new range of keyboards they didn’t update the drivers for Vista/Win 7. They wanted people to buy the new version instead. So someone did an unofficial version.

I also have Korg nano Kontrol and nano pad 2.

Some nice instruments you have there Steve. Do you mainly record in with those then edit on the computer? Wondering where you had a mixer etc! I forgot to display my instruments. I also have a left handed bass and a right handed guitar. Not as fancy as yours mind. I have some wooden flutes/recorders from Bolivia which I use for little sounds now and then.

i’ve been working while going through uni, so i’ve never had the time to learn to express myself musically. now that i’m done with uni i’ve finally started learning to use reason, and i’ve set up a super high tech studio - it cost me a total of $150 - $100 for a second hand behringer midi keyboard and $50 korg nanokontroller (off ebay). i bought my laptop using my tax return, and i use earphones when composing.

if i get serious enough with this, i promise i will also pay for a real copy of reason raspberry

but yeah, although it’s about as bare-bones as you can get, i’m still proud of my set-up smile

Thanks for your comments, guys. Regarding the mixer, etc, everything is “inside” my Mac G5 - I use Logic Pro. The guitars I mostly use as instruments to build up tracks, I very rarely sample them.

Those are only a tiny number of my instruments - here’s a few more!

Ah I recognise that long thing in figure 5 - the one which looks like a coconut attached to a fishing rod - is that the seed pod?

Some guys always playing it down the Southbank - I thought it sounded pretty cool, although I started to notice he seems to be singing/playing the same song all day!

Oh actually I was looking at the writing above the box instead of below - so its a Berimbau then.

Yep, that’s a berimbau. As used by Steve Hillage on the 777 album by System 7!

Not much to look at, but here it is….with a new track teaser.  smile

Currently rearranging and fixing up the room. Building acoustic panels, etc etc.
Not much equipment to see, it’s a small and meager setup. Most of my music is made in the box anyways.

Might have to make another short video showing all the crazy percussion in that closet though…

I love my job! I get to kill bugs and wrestle animals all day! Basically I do pest control and wildlife removal. Sounds cooler the other way… I listen to a lot of music while I’m working though!
