Some weeks ago my best friend committed suicide. We had known each other for more than 20 years, and he was my closest friend for all these years. Shpongle was one of the things we shared together, we always listened to it when we met, we also went to the Round House-concert in London 2008, and had a magical evening.
On his memorial I read a poem to him to the music from Flute fruit. The poem took about a minute to read, so when I was done reading the music played on, and it was just when the music rises (so to say). This flute is so beautiful, and it was really perfect in that context, together with the poem. It really lifted the words to the skies.
The poem is in Swedish, if anybody is interested: http://www.karinboye.se/verk/dikter/dikter/till-en-van.shtml

So, thank you Raja Ram for giving these beautiful, magical tones to me, so I could honor my friend with them. I will always listen to this tune with other ears from now on. And thank you both Raja Ram and Simon Posford for making this fabulous music, which filled the space so many nights for me and my friend when we sat together, drinking, smoking, talking, laughing. Thank you Ingo, for these moments! I miss you. You are now in the definite Shpongleland. I will meet you there one day, and we will again sit together with our wine, talking and laughing together to the magical tones of Shpongle.
If this is not going to happen, death has lost its meaning.
Peace
