I saw your incredible set at Mr Smalls. I felt very privileged because Mr Smalls has a capacity of 650 and it definitely wasn’t a sold-out show, even though there were certainly a number of people there.
I saw videos of your set at the Electric Factory and I was blown away by how many people were there and I felt very lucky to have had such an intimate Shpongle experience.
My question is, for such massive music, does the venue size affect how you DJ and what tunes you play? Does it bother you if you are playing at a smaller venue, or do you find the intimacy refreshing? I felt like at Mr Smalls it was probably very easy for you to see just about everyone in the crowd and directly see how much everyone was feeling the music. Whereas at a larger venue like the Electric Factory, it’s much more vast. Because it’s less intimate, I imagine it’s easier for people to let go and boogie lmao. What are your thoughts Simon?
