Wow, this thing is cool!!  Play around with the “CymaPiano,” and watch the Pink Floyd demonstration.  Man, I would love to see what Shpongle and/or some good trance fed through this thing looks like..
A little background, from wikipedia, for those unfamiliar with cymatics (one of them being me):
“Cymatics (from Greek: κῦμα “wave”) is the study of visible sound and vibration, a subset of modal phenomena. Typically the surface of a plate, diaphragm, or membrane is vibrated, and regions of maximum and minimum displacement are made visible in a thin coating of particles, paste, or liquid.[1] Different patterns emerge in the excitatory medium depending on the geometry of the plate and the driving frequency.
The apparatus employed can be simple, such as the ancient Chinese spouting bowl, or Chinese singing fountain, in which copper handles are rubbed and cause the copper bottom elements to vibrate. Other examples are a Chladni Plate[2] or advanced such as the CymaScope, a laboratory instrument that makes visible the inherent geometries within sound and music”

“It is by attempting the impossible that we reach the highest level of possible”  probably misquoted, and by a great British author, I will find the right reference..

The ultimate visualization to go with the music…the notes themselves!  How amazing.  Thanks for posting this!

Very interesting!

Will be intriguing to see all the applications of this technology, some of the areas of interest on the site are quite astonishing!
