Hey guys, first time poster here, love the site.  I went from just knowing about Shpongle to seeing Simon 3 times this year - 930 club (in northern Virginia) Starscape and Allgood.  Huge fan now.  I’ve loved Ott for awhile so the website is great.

I hate to be so trollish on a first post, but I saw Shpongle at Allgood and one part of the set stuck out to me and has been playing in my head ever since.  Somebody was lucky enough to take a video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BZnJ7kKSBKE

Is the whole beginning a song, or, just a random mix?  At 1:22 or so is my favorite and what I’m really looking for.

It was such a fantastic show, was anybody else there?

The first track (the one you’re talking about) is Nothing is Something Worth Doing, off of Ineffable Mysteries from Shpongleland.  The part you liked most (around 1:20) is around 1:30 in the track smile  Excellent track, off a truly excellent album!  (though I would say the same about practically every track on every other album LOL)  My fave on that album, though, is I Am You (followed closely by Invisible Man in a Fluorescent Suit, Walking Backwards Through the Cosmic Mirror, and Ineffable Mysteries).  You’ve probably heard all of those already, too, having been to three shows now cheese I’m quite jealous you got to see The Masquerade; I only saw the first version of the Shpongletron, though I went to three of the Masquerade tour dates (I guess none of the venues had a big enough stage for Production).  Anyways, welcome truly into the fascinating world of Shpongle, and welcome to the forums!

Indeed, welcome to the forums and welcome to Shpongle!

Like sister said above, every song on every album is a favorite to someone, and for good reason.  Shpongle is just on another level grin

If you’re interested, I listened to the rest of the clip and here’s the rest of the lineup:

around 2:13 what is more or less Prometheus’s remix of Shpongle’s A New Way to Say Hooray off of Tales of the Inexpressible comes in—I am personally in love with this remix http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=178PgVVv_Hk and have never seen Simon play with it live, pretty cool deal!

around 7:00 a doped up version of Before the Big Bang off The God Particle LP comes in, sounds like it might be mixed in with something else that I can’t place..  (anyone?) —interesting factoid, The God Particle CD comes with a gigantic misprint wherein the first track is identified as “Berfore the Big Bang” LOL (at least it’s been guessed it’s a misprint, I don’t know that Shpongle have confirmed or denied that suspicion.. http://www.twistedmusic.com/forums/viewthread/4655/)

sounds like there’s a little bit of Raja Ram’s flutework at the very end of the clip, I think that’s actually from the track The God Particle, so maybe Simon was mixing those two tracks together..?

Sister blackleg that remix you posted was awesome. And thank you so much for posting what song that was. Played that a few times in a row now. That show was so much fun it’s great trying to relive it. I’m pretty hungover laying on my sofa and jamming out to this right now, it’s really helping. You rock.

You are totally, totally welcome grin  I love to spread the love if I am able!  I think it would be a great dream if the whole world was open to Shpongle and the messages it can bring within yourself.  Imagine where we could all be then!!  Or maybe it’s just damn good listening tongue wink
Sorry for your hangover, hope you’re feeling better soon sick
See ya ‘round the forum! cheese

Agreed.  I’ll be a little sad forever that I never got to see the new Shpongletron in person!  Hopefully there will be a Twistival somewhere in the U.S. that will kinda make up for it, though.. wink

A little late in my reply, but sister blackleg, I am You is my favorite song on that album too. Just when I heard that one part of Nothing is Something Worth Doing my mind was blown. The shpongletron added that effect.

That, and then the end of this: http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=wtXnYzY_DPM

Holy CRAP, what was that??!  Anybody know what that track is before Frisbee comes in??  That was SICK.  That almost sounded more like Hallucinogen than Shpongle—if that was a new Shpongle beat, I can only say HELL YEAH, I CANNOT WAIT FOR THAT!!!!  LOL Thanks for posting that clip, picklerw cheese  And if anybody knows what it is, please please tell me, I must have it…..  Delightfully dark, twisty, cosmic, and full of Raja Ram’s flutey goodness!!  MUST…. HAVE….. IT.

hehe, is it wrong to quote oneself? tongue rolleye

anyway, i’m getting a consensus that this is, in fact, a new Shpongle track (unreleased) cheese  and if that’s true, my guess would be it is extremely recent, because I heard new Shpongle at the Masquerade shows I went to, and this was definitely not one of them.  I am ULTRA (read: VERY, VERY, VERY, VERY lol!) excited about this track smile smile smile  If you weren’t able to view the clip, go to the link and click on “Desktop” at the top, should load it right up.  Better yet, here’s the direct link:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?gl=US&hl=en&client=mv-google&v=wtXnYzY_DPM&nomobile=1  Thanks again, picklerw!!!!!
