Fond memories

I listen to Shpongle when ever I have a chance to. It’s the kind of music you can listen to several times and each time hear something new.

The first Shpongle masterpiece I heard was ‘Crystal Skulls’ at the end of a trance mix. It stood out from all the other tracks and left me wanting more.

Next day, I bought ‘Remixed’ followed by ‘Tales of the Inexpressible’, ‘Are You Shpongled?’ then more recently ‘Nothing Lasts…’...

Do you mean The Sixth (or Seventh) Revelation on the Mystery of the Crystal Skulls (or Secret of the Crystal Skulls)?  Either way, both of those tracks stood out from the rest.  Or do you mean another track?

The Seventh Revelation

Hi TwoPynts. I forgot to mention, it was the seventh revelation. I heard it on the album White Label Euphoria Lv2.

Just think, if I hadn’t have heard that I probably wouldn’t be the shpongle obsessed guy I am now. Doesn’t bear thinking about!

Very Moorish

I know the feeling uNhoLeee.

The thing I love about ‘Nothing Lasts… But Nothing Is Lost’ is the way you have bits of previous tracks blending into other ones.
Good example, in ‘Mentalism’ you have bits from both ‘COTI’ and ‘Linguistic Mystic’ creeping in.

Also, love the way the vocals from ‘POC’ continue through ‘Schmaltz Herring’

And that kind of scat singing in MS with the haunting flute… Can’t get enough of it :D

No, let’s not even go there.  LOL

My favorite album is still Tales…just something so perfect about it from beginning to end…

They’re all special

All three albums are brilliant in there own way.

Are You Shpongled? - I think this is the most chilled of the 3. Until BCE that is! My fave part is the crazy bit at the end of BCE. The chilled bit at the start of DMOT is a great contrast to this.

Tales Of The Inexpressible - I love the world music influences on this album. The tribal sound of ‘A new way to say hooray!’ and the carnival sounding ‘My head feels like a frisbee’. Love the flute lines too

Nothing Lasts… But Nothimg Is Lost - Luv the way this album is mixed and the way parts of tracks continue into the following tracks. Not too keen on the fact that Raja Ram’s flute expertise are only displayed later on in the album.

What are ur favourite bits on these albums TwoPynts? smile

I wish Raja’s flute was a bit more present on the 3rd album too.  Levitation Nation is where things really get cooking for me and that fun trip lasts all the way to Shnitzled, and then starts all over with When Shall I Be Free thru Mentalism, and again from Invocation thru Turn Up, and then closes nicely, if a bit abruptly with Nebbish.

On Tales, there is so much to like I am not even sure where to start.  Star Shpongled Banner is always a fun ride (esp. after I saw those videos with it used as the sound track) and Shpongleyes starts of the wonderful closing half of the album which is highlighted for my by Tea Daze.

On RU?, Vapor Rumors and Sph Spores are faves, and of course BCE, but ATDTTN is an epic that almost overshadows the others, but not really.  ;’]

The Shongle tracks from the Yeti albums are also pretty sweet, and Sauded pt. II for those mellow, drifty moods.

I just bought “Nothing lasts…”, I like it. A lot better than I expected smile

Someone mentioned listening to Shpongle over 200 times… that’s how I’ll be ending up with Hallucinogen. But all the songs from Hallucinogen that I have (except ‘E’).

ROFL @ me, since I am used to programming (or learning to), I often put a semicolon after the parenthesis, and then I realise that it’s a mistake… just thought it’s funny of me.

f.ex: above while writing I wrote:

... (except ‘E’);

before I corrected it
