Gah I couldn’t choose. LSD remix is my all time favourite Ott track but JCABS and SGAC come within a hair’s breadth of the top slot. My favourites change. I just couldn’t choose.
[quote author=“psyclone”]This is a very hard decision on my part. I say Blumenkraft because it shows Ott’s individual skill and talent 100%. However, In Dub is amazingly psychedelic and Posfordish. In Blumenkraft, you’re in Ott’s world, with In Dub, you’re in Posford’s world with Ott-goggles on.
I knew if I left it long enough some one would find the words for me, and so well put worth quoting in total

impossible choice ....it’s like making a choice between ‘the wall” and “dark side of the moon” from the floyds ..or if you had to keep only one choice for the rest of your life between music and sex….what do you choose…lol

Have to agree with you on this, even though I didn’t think of it like that until I read it. I slightly prefer Blumenkraft over In Dub however it is hard to pick.
Could be a sentiment thing as well as I first listened to it with a real hot ex and well need explain no more. Let’s say it sticks out in my mind.
On in dub every song is a masterpiece to me, blumenkraft is fxin great aswell but it just doesnt have the edge that in dub has, also i think the songs are less organised. but thats not strange since they were already existing songs, which wasnt really the case on blumenkraft, on a whole the cd appeals just a bit less to me than in Dub does.
Very tough call…so I won’t make it. Both are special for different reason and are their own, awsome experiences. Each has its moments (many of them) of magic.
IE, both have amazing openers ~
The subtle trippiness of Jack’s Cheese And Bread Snack eases you into Ott’s world. The full on freeky-deekyness of Mi-Loony-Um’s distorted tick-tock clarion call heralds the fun to come.
And let’s not forget the covers. The shiney bublegum balloons of In Dub are pure genious, but what’s not to love about that flower waving little white robot?
I heard ‘Blumenkraft’ before i heard ‘In Dub’, so that was my introduction to Ott basically, and it blew my socks off at the time with its epic production and floor shaking base. However I’m playing ‘In Dub’ more often now, for one simple reason - it flows better as an album. There’s not much else to differentiate between them, they’re both really excellent slices of chilled psy dub loveliness.
I am really looking forward to Ott’s next offering, as i reckon it’s gonna be his best work yet. I mean, seeing as it’s taken so long and all…
